This is a part of the American culture. When someone is left behind and gets desperate, sometimes they will lash out. This is the freedom that is on the march, and the reason why the rest of the world resists it.

In a few years, there will be another shooting that will make this one look small. And we will have this same conversation again.

"Is it a conspiracy?" No. It's a direct result of the rotten culture. Period.

I am not forgetting the students that were shot but if your opinion counts and no one elses I can see where when I first was introduced to above top secret there seemed to be thousands of people talking I don't see that anymore but then I find YOU and maybe just maybe I'll go where the ours have gone ...

These people are definitely confused and shocked as we all are.

There is no panic. We are trying to get all the facts and figure out what has happened. It is very confusing and we want to know how this happened.

Also the state of emergency is to help ease the situation. THis provides money and makes it easier for law enforcemnt and medical agencies to work together. This also helps parents and student get in and out.

A state of emergency has been declared? is that Marsal Law? The American emergency system is different from the UK's.

Virginia Lt Governor on FNC trying very hard to back up the procedures used in today's tragedy, deferring to what the spokespeople said concerning this, he said that at this time we should be concerned with the victims, their families and students at the campus.

The Governor declared a State of Emergency which allows the feds to come in and assist with the investigation. It does open the door for security ops as well but I believe it to be for financial and investigative assistance.

No its no marshal law. Marshal law means you have federal troops taking control. This free up law enforcemnt to give them a bit more liberty to do things on the fly as well as sets up a direct chain of command.

I am assuming this guy must have had a sub-machine gun. Thirty-three people dead? Sounds like there was more than one individual involved in this to me.

This thread is not about UK crime figures (which i got from the BBC). Yes, I brought it up pages ago, but we have moved away from gun control and the correct discussion threads have been created;

So far reported 2 handguns, one report 2 9mm, another one 9mm and one .22cal handgun.

At the presser police would not release any details on the weapons recovered.

They don't know if the two incidents are connected or the work of one person.

Can this possibly be the shooter?
