God was created via the beginnings of fetish worship (the idea that elements or spirits resided in things like weapons that were victorious in battle). I also believe that God was invented to be the ultimate caring father figure and something as simple as an answer to unknown questions. It was only later that religion used the idea as a controling agent.

I do not believe in god as any of the religions claim. However I do believe in a unity of things as seen without the illusion of dualism; the everything and nothing at the same time, the void that is neither void nor not void and at the same time both. Call it god if you like, but it is something that is not conscious of its own existance because in doing so it creates duality (consciousness/non-consciousness or existance/non-existance).

why not to question God? why is it sin why? anyone can explain?

when a child is born and grows up a little and questions his father, is that sin? when a child asks, what do you do and why do you do it and how did you start doing it, is that sin?

asking a question and curiosity is not sin!

if God wants a piece on earth, he has to show himself once! only once! and everybody will start believeing, he sent Jesus once and yea it had a huge effect! but that is already getting weak! another appearance is needed

someone else mentioned believing in god is for babies and children.... i believe that aswell. its just part of discipline and giving them something to aim for. eventually you realise gods ALOOTT less believable than alot of mythilogical creatures like a dragon or whatever. its just absolutly insane that people still believe in god.

it was man who invnted god and man who wrote the bible. the bible most probably started as a set of rules with stories as examples. tonight, pray to god to rid the world of cancer by the end of this year. life will carry on as usual. really, god is utter bollocks. stop wasting ure lives and do something that can really help the human race - become a doctor or somethin.

No one invented the God, because god doesnt exist. Priests says that god is infinite, scientists says that universe is infinite. I belive scientists more. There cant be 2 infinities because they will be the same. So God and universe are the same. So Universe exists, because we see it and dont see the God. There is no space for two infinities in one dismension.

After reading the last posts and stuff, I suddenly felt the need to repeat myself concerning the Gods and stuff, I wonder why, do you too?

I go along with the reinvention theory that was stated earlier in this thread.
There isn't anything that exists that has not been created by something else.

I believe that logic dictates that there is a God.

This is a very interesting discussion, and I will once again jump right in.

I think it is important to understand there is a hugh difference between God and the way that "God's" teaching is implemented. Organized religion is what is guilty of wars, lies, propaganda, power and control, ignorance, and arrogance.

It is not the bible, god, or anyother deity, it is the implementation by man for what I believe to be devious intentions.

I think there is something there, But I also believe that we are arrogant enough as a species to believe that we are more then this life.

I think to better understand, we need to look at ourselves and see what are accomplishments are:

We can invent life. We ourselves are almost God. And when we invent a life on say Mars, will this new species wonder about us?

We have no answers, why would God?

What does God have to do with the bible. The bible is just a book of one of the thousands of religions that believe in a god.


And if scientists are rediscovering stuff that ancient religions knew of thousands of years ago (Maya/illusion is one example), then why say that God is utter bollocks when we don't even have the proof the size of an electron to prove that God doesn't exist.
