No...this is a community type action, for it will take the community to make this type stuff stop. Creates nothing but continued division and 'bad blood.'
Pretty sad, but many never get this, so the cycle continues.

Point taken. Just another one to add to the list I guess.

In contrast, the US has NEVER started colonies in another land. In fact, the closest thing to colonies the US has are military bases, which were either AGREED on by the nations own government, or are still standing from WWII. In either case, their is absolutely no argument that this constitutes imperialism of any kind.

Huh? One of the reasons Japan attacked the US in WW2 was because it wanted the Philippines, which was an American colony. Not to mention all the lands that the US has completely annxed like Hawaii. So maybe you should drop your holier than thou attitude

Stop. Please. Comparisons like Germany 1930 or anything else dont even come close to the modern American age. There are NO comparisons. None. Those of you who keep trying to compare some other time and place to what is happening now are the ones most likely doomed to repeat the mistakes of history. I love my country but there is a hell of a lot wrong with it. Making Nazi comparisons or whatever makes no sense since there really is no comparison. I hate W. I used to be a registered Republican before he came to office. Hes no Republican. I still cant figure out what the hell hes supposed to be.

Text

Clinton was great for the economy but his foreign policies let Al Qaeda thrive despite his secret kill order for Bin Laden. I hate Clinton too. All the US presidents going back to Jimmy Carter have a hand in the current terror mess. Even the great Ron Reagan. This is still nothing and I mean NOTHING like Nazi Germany. Make all the comparisons you want. For those of you basing all your anti US hate on the Iraq war yes W botched the reasons bigtime but know this.

Text

The whole real reason for the Iraq war is to get as solidly on Irans doorstep as possible. This has been the real strategy since 9/12/01. Iran has been the real threat since before 9/11 and we knew it. Of course W was making invasion strategies as soon as he took office. The Iran situation is a lot graver than most people realize. Just look at a map. Its the classic "Hammer and Anvil" strategy. Weve got troops in the north and south and our carrier battle groups to the east and the west. Its just a matter of time now. Yes Iraq had tons of WMD. It is just a matter of time before its found. If you believe the mullahs nuke plant for electrical power only your an idiot. Im sorry.

Text

Ill be very happy when W leaves office. He draws way to much support from the loony right. His economic policies are just bizarre. When it comes to Iran and North Korea hes got them both scurrying around like cockroaches under a flashlight though. The next 2-3 years are going to be very very long. There are no comparisons in history to the situation we are in now. Only time will tell how bad the world situation gets and how. As an end note the North Koreans are more likely to nuke themselves than anybody else.

You and ghostsoldier must be 'kissing cousins' or something, huh?
You don't make any sense sometimes, buts that is cool, its funny.
You ask why when why is quite self-evident.
You, as others, can continue to spew your own anti-American rhetoric but god forbid if the game gets slammed back at ya, eh?
Whats that old saying:
What goes around, comes around?
But you ask: "What is the point.....?"

How did You guess? Ghostsoldier and me go way back - we first met on Cuba when we were fishing for some good tunas and enjoying the company of Cuban Women and then, ofcourse - made plans, how to destroy the Great American Empire.

Anyway I did not find any Pro-American rhetoric from AAM, more a counter-thread, a counter-post to "show who is the Boss". I dont mind any "slamming back at me", actually I just cant wait for it to happen, to hear what the other side has to say, so see from their point of view. Sometimes they use good arguements, but sometimes they just use some childish stuff in order to distract the discussion to the other side - like AAM did. Well I am not surprised that he gets Your full support in doing this. Are you two maybe cousins also?

And yes I have to agree with you 100% when saying:" What goes around, comes around!" Could not agree more.

Here's a word of humble advice: Don't 'slam' and you won't have to worry about being 'slammed' [read between the lines].

Point taken.

How anyone can think the United States or Europe are anything like 1930's Germany is beyond me. I respect both sides' opinions and analysis on this topic, but I strongly dissagree. If the point of this topic was that such comparisons are silly, that I agree with. If not though, then it's just going to add fuel to the fire.

Also, remember that it was the overwhelming desire to demoralize Germany following it's defeat in WW1 that contributed so heavily to the atmosphere in which Hitler rose to power and subsequently pulled the world into his nightmarish Reich. It's all connected, and there is - as in any conflict - plenty of blame to go around in my opinion. Everything is a result of cause and effect combined with choice.

The only comparison between Germany then and the U.S. and Europe today, is that both Europe and the U.S. - along with any of the other "quasi-superpowers" remaining in the world - are capable of plunging the world into another global conflict in which countless millions could die horribly. That doesn't mean - I hope - that any of them will.

I think the time of every person in this world would be far better spent exploring ways to foster greater understanding and communication so that the sentiments and atmospheres contributing to such conflicts can be minimized - atleast as much as humanly possible.

That clearly isn't happening on the world stage, nor, it would appear, is it happening here.

If AMM is only looking at the European far right, then he is making a point about how easy it is for a far right group to make impact on the European stage. But, if he is just focusing on the whole of Europe then i see no logic to this thread.

(*hint*.....there are no real commies left anywhere anymore.)

Yes...really pathetic.... on your part....and look who is talking about denying ignorance...so there are no real commies huh?... Tell that to fidel castro, China, and the other communist regimes that still exist.... not to mention the millions of people worldwide who claim to be communists...

Yeah, communism is dead.....riiiight.....

BTW, i agree with much of what the original poster is saying. Good post.

There are some things i do not agree with thou. For example, Hitler was no angel, and the actions of Europe does not make him an angel. appart from that I agree with most of what you say.

There has been an anti-american sentiment in Europe for a long time. Even in the 80's when I was living in Europe there was an animosity against anyone that was American.

isnt it sad that you compare EUROPE today to 1930 germany?
do you know how many dutch, french, germans, normal people died because of some idiot in germany? if you go to europe, every place has its own history of destruction and death. the german army couldnt walk in a single european country without fierce fighting. if we all where/are nazis we would simply let them in wouldnt we?!
most of the americans like to talk like all europeans are/where rotten nazis, thanks for the disrespectfull comparisment.

According to quite a few americans there are good people and bad people in the world.

America is (naturaly) on the good side, plus they have god on their side.
Russia? Bad.
Europe? Bad.
Entire middle east? Bad.
China? Bad.
Canada? stupid.
The rest of the world? dont care.

I mean all you can do is hate the communists, hate muslims, hate europeans, and effectively hate the enire world.

In other words: americans see them selves as good people, they cannot do wrong.
This thinking is actually very dangerous for the worlds peace and stability.

As we could see with bush who simply didnt care about lives of iraqi civilians.

And do you really think Bush is the only retard in america?
Corrupt and ignorant is what most americans are.
