Maybe the government spends less. Eliminate the Department of Education, return it to the states.

Even if they eliminate the Department of Education, the cost of educating the kids will still fall on the taxpayer, regardless of whether their dollars go to the feds or the states. Some states, like Kentucky, get more $$$ from the feds than they pay. That's going to hurt.

There is a reason why private schools do better with less money. small teacher to student ratio, better pay for teachers etc...

To eliminate DoE is to kill a million high-paying worthless jobs that all that money could go to actual schools, teachers and kids.

It is a system that has bloated to levels that are just crazy and it needs to just get wiped clean with a fresh start, if even this you disagree with there isn't really any hope you would agree with anything, who am I kidding...lol

Less money for teachers unions will.

They should keep the social security tax on overtime....it helps to raise your social security checks amount when you are older for people who are paid less. I can see that they should remove the federal tax on overtime though, there should be some extra benefit for working more hours in the week....since people are too tired to cook their own meals and usually buy food from delis or drive through restaurants after work...been there, done that...worked twelve to sixteen hours a day for many years. But because I owned my own business, it wouldn't have benefited me anyway I suppose.

Do they? I don't think that's true. I guess it helps that they don't have to deal with "special needs" kids, of all kinds. They can't really participate in competiive sports, like football, baseball and basketball.
