Democratic cities in particular could become overly concerned with the same occurring in the run-up to and during the election. Hyper security would likely lead to a smaller voter turnout or worse case scenarios emergency measures.

Who knows what the current administration will do, it seems like these protests will spring up on certain campuses again during the fall, if they do it's not a far reach to seeing them affect the election in some ways.

Protests or disruptions in just a handful of the right cities, counties, and precincts could be all it takes.

A protest is not necessarily a riot.

People who brought explosives and heavy weapons nearby as a 'quick reaction force', and who brought hardware to build scaffolds, and who broke down barrier fencing and who vandalized and broke into the Capitol were not intending or actioning peaceful protest.

There were groups such as the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys and etc, that planned to initiate armed violent revolt. They were organized, communicating and coordinating well prior to the event:

It wasn't just the people in the crowd, most of whom were relatively peaceful, it was the extremist and terrorists among them who intended to drive the crowd to insurrection and revolt.

I did read it back (to check for typo's, and poor grammar, and to make sure I wasn't being ambiguous, etc), and it still means the same thing.

My question to you is: 'Do you think that America should abandon elections and should submit to rule by the a dictator who is kept in power by the violent actions of thugs, and who are motivated by a provably false assumption that elections are significantly fraudulent (despite the fact that it is the electoral college that selects the president, and not the general election)?'

And my reason for that question is, that it was that very situation the January 6 conspirators were attempting to achieve.

Stop. We all know groups like Oath Keepers, Proud Boys etc. are heavily infiltrated by Federal agents and informants. COINTELPRO never ended. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 They played key roles for the Jan6 frame-ups.

edit - I know 'how' it's done, but it's totally illegal. To do this, you need to know 'who' and 'what' cellphone "device" they have, AND you have to have the proper order (warrant, whatever) to perform such a search. You can't just surveil the general public.

You can actually track any cellphone number you want.

It has been in place for years.

When I was running a business in North Dakota we used MobiTracker to see where everyone on the crew was in realtime.

There are free ways to do it as well.

Same way the FBI tracked all the J6ers and how they tracked the Trump shooter to someone located at an FBI office.

I don't think they can publicly get names associated with the phones, but can track the physical phones based on what cell towers they ping off of.
