They have apparently attacked the 3rd bridge in the region.

Meaning Russian reinforcement from the West may present somewhat of a problem.

I also posted about this in the other Ukrainian thread, this will slow down the Russian supply lines too, and with Ukraine taking out so many migs lately Russia are going to have a hell of problem keeping up there slow advances with no air support to fight off Ukraines new fighters.

Apparently the Ukrainian cobbled-together "FrankenSAM Air Defense Concept" is being eyed by the U.S. military which uses the AIM-9 Sidewinder!

And can be mounted on the back of a truck/tracks.

Wonder if they will have any of those on the field or in support?

Hopefully, their ground forces have plenty of MANPADS to make a mess with also.

Keeping them supplied though is going to be rather the task if they do manage to dig in.

Ukraine shot down a Russian kamikaze drone on Wednesday using an improvised “FrankenSAM” air defense system.

The system downed the Shahed drone from 9 kilometers (5.6 miles), registering its first kill, Ukrainian Minister Of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin said.

Some air defense complexes fabricated under the project include the Buk air defense system with American RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missiles, AIM-9M Sidewinder air-to-air missiles combined with Soviet radars, and Patriot missiles with older Ukrainian radar systems.

It also includes revamping obsolete air defense systems such as the decades-old Hawk.
