I think you will find that the revolutionary and civil wars all required guns.

And currently, each year, more people keep dying from firearms but there isn't currently any war inside the US borders to even vaguely 'legitimize' it.

The 2nd is a bad law. It is causing ongoing and totally unnecessary deaths, and has for 233 years.

Americans are no more free just because they can be shot at by someone who disagrees or dislikes them.

It's amazing that some members can't seem to stay on the thread topic of the Time magazine cover and have to go on rants about gun control, pandemic response, and other things that have nothing to do with the cover.

To address the cover, as others have said, you can still order the other cover. It looks like they do multiple covers as events happen, as I see a "If he wins" for both Biden and Trump. I think the magazine's goal is to appeal to as broad an audience as possible, and this is easily accomplished by having multiple covers of their issues. I wouldn't read that much into it.
