Same BS as the other dozens of reasons Russia said why they invaded. Ukraine was a very long way from joining NATO if ever, and the only reason why other countries are now even suggesting it is due to Russia's aggression.

The average age of the Ukranians on the front line is now over 40. That isn't winning regardless of whatever way you try and sugarcoat it.

They have 350,000+ and are losing 1000+ per day with the summer surge. Add 100+ vehicles and 50+ artillery systems per day lost. It's a huge surge these last couple of months and they push men in like meat shields.
