When you use it to attack other people that's not exactly the best use of the freedom of speech.

So on top of not believing I have a right to speech you also wish to dictate the time and place of my speech?

Is this an example of your version of critical thinking by chance?

Besides that, this is literally a thread that someone asked about why those on the left think certain things. We answer and you attack??

Did you answer the question of why/how Trump is a threat to democracy?

If the so called critical thinking is predicated on hatred for Trump and nothing else, what do you expect?

I use critical thinking every single day of my life, in my career and while facing conspiracy theories and wild claims.

My dislike of Trump has been explained. If you don't agree that's cool, but you do not have the right to attack someone that disagrees with you....lol

I don't have the right to free speech?

What an odd thing to say......

This website is just awash with nonsense and nonsensical people. I was having fun making fun of them for a while. But holy hell, there’s not enough time in the day to even read it all.
Another thing overrun by an army of liberal leftist dem infants. Oh well, I guess they can have it.

Regardless, it's nice that they bring their talking points. Gives us all a chance to prove how hollow and shallow they are.

Wow, you have garnered a lot of shall I say ''flack'' over your simple question here quin. Our OP asked ''a simple question'' and directed it directly to the ''left''. I punched into ATS this afternoon and found this huge thread, read the title and wondered just how many people from what anyone might consider the left to be even frequent this website. As the thread was purposefully directed to those specific people, asking just who those people might be seems a very legitimate question. The image of De Nero talking to himself in the mirror asking ''you talking to me, you talking to me''?

The most ''left'' as they used to be called were Communists, the most right, Fascists. Correct, or am I suffering from Mandala Effect. Now though we hear some people, for instance Donald Trump, calling his detractors far left communists and in the same breath, fascists. For those who distinguish these two words as being on opposite sides of a political spectrum this might be a a bit confusing so I think that your question was a valid question, just who is our OP asking this question to, Communists or Fascists.

But maybe here I am also splitting hairs because to many who might read this thread, there is no difference, that a rose by any other name is, a rose. A communist is a fascist, a fascist a communist.

And while there are many who consider themselves to be communists and those who consider themselves to be fascists, I have never, ever, found one who considers themself both communist and at the same time fascist. Maybe Trump is a threat to democracy because he doesn't or at least pretends, not to know the difference.

To the tool's on page one and two that need to argue semantic's
Fascism is the marriage between corporate power and state power. That is not communism now is it? Communists and Lefties seem to go together too. Everything for everyone but brought in by someone else while you work on a singing career.
Now before you call DT a fascist, you should ask yourself if this is a development that he should be blamed for. If you gotta split hairs about the meaning of the left, then imagine all the misplaced hair on DT's head, and I bet you would have them counted already. So the left is like DT's misplaced hair, always ugly and right on top of his head at all times. Now can you answer the foookin question?

The definition of the left is almost completely irrelevant and just an attempt to not answer OPs question. OP couldve easily taken the word the left out of his question and it wouldnt change anything.

There’s no doubt. Heck there’s a couple of socks on this thread that rotate names. I find it interesting that they try and change their writing styles yet after a few post you get this overwhelming feeling of deja vu, they’re very easy to spot after awhile. I’ve been here 20 years come next year so you do start seeing patterns.

Because media says so and all the sheep will talk about what the media tells them to talk about, with the word they like to divide and rule their soggy brains.

There is no democracy in the USA it's identity politics to fool those easily fooled into a dichotomous control grid.

You're thread is the perfect example of how totally irrelevant democracy in the USA is, when media makes a sound you all come out like reactionary parotts pro/cons using the same charged vocabulary defined by media that only serves to divide. There seem to be no original thoughts...

The only treat is that you are being divided by playing along the media induced division.
if anything is a thread to democracy it's getting worked up and trying to counter the mediatic assault on democracy by mediatic reactionary responses, like this thread...

You got reactionary right wing drivel, getting worked up over left wing drivel...

You'll have the same on twitter but with the roles reversed. Yes you're being played big time...

Trump is a thread to democracy insofar that the bait on a hook is a thread to fish...

It's those that bite the identity politics bait that are a thread to democracy.

But that probably goes a bit too far for the right to fathom, most arent even aware of those psychosocial dynamics.

Have fun with the dichotomy it's forever stable but never alows for any synthesis, which is the key for organic growth and adaption.
Stable systems are the first to ge when the fundamentals change...

Is it time to smile and wave goodbye, almost...

People with TDS have no compass except one that guides them through irrational hatred.

I heard they used a dartboard for the really tough decisions on how to generate outrage going forward into the next Trump era.

This thread gave us the answer to your question.

The phenomenon known as TDS needs to be studied and understood because as a tool it seems ridiculous on the surface and yet to deny it as a force of nature in an age of enlightened cynicism seems like a missed opportunity for reducing the chance of repeated behavior.

I have no doubt that the onslaught against American culture and values by every machination of TPTB is manufactured controversy in order to distract the masses from the fact that the country they thought they knew has been high jacked and that not only is the enemy inside the gates, but they are also running this #show farce we've come to know as the US of A.

At least, that is if I understood what you meant by 'the left' which would of course include quite a couple of RINOS as well.

Indeed I also believe my question was legit and I thank you for your astute analysis of this thread and cutting through the semantics. Does Trump know the difference...perhaps when he declares he will be a tyrant? was that the word he used, no, dictator? - or does he not know they are the same thing?

I have heard him talk about it with his first day back in the job. Is he just going to nip a few problems in the bud to stop them expanding to start? Sounds like some long over due things going on from here. Does this clean out turn into one of those two weeks to flatten the curve that ends up dragging on for years?

Because he didn't have a choice. The military would have gone in and removed him....lol

In my humble opinion, my point still stands because to this day he has never conceded and used the words "I lost the 2020 free and fair election."

If he did that it would go a long way in repairing his reputation with some on the left. Others will continue to hold a grudge.

regardless of any other factor, the day Trump was supposed to vacate the white house, he did. There were no handcuffs, no gunpoint removal. he just left. Did he leave happy? no. As I said, he likely still believes to this day that he was #ed out of office, many of those who support him also feel that way.

I'll throw a hypothetical at you. If if's found that Trump was cheated out of the election by ballot harvesting, what happens then? Do all of you apologize? Does Trump get his 4 years back? No?

It's time to let go of your programmed anger. Just in case it is found that he was cheated, in the other way. I have already shown how he was cheated by the IC and the DNC.

He believed then, and likely believes now that he was #ed out of the last election. I also think that. In fact, I don't just think it, I know it. And the facts are on my side.

The DNC, the IC, and the "deep state" actively suppressed the true reporting of the laptop before the election using the "it's all Russia's fault" tagline they must use due to not having any imagination or intelligence. Enough voters have stated that had they known about this, they wouldn't have voted for Biden, and Trump would have won. All that happened, without one ballot being hijacked. (I still believe that happened, but can't prove it)

But the facts are not on your side. In fact there are zero successful court cases due to lack of evidence. There has been zero credible evidence brought forward saying there was wide spread fraud to the level where it would have changed the outcome (no one would argue that there were small, insignificant issues).

If you have evidence please send the link to the rest of us. Credible evidence only please.

As for that whole the Russia gate thing, I can tell you it had zero impact on who I voted for. I can also speak confidentially that none of the friends I discuss politics with would have changed their vote either. We voted for Biden because we liked his policies better than we like Trump's policies. It's that simple for some of us. Obviously I can't speak for everyone.

As for right now, I think the country needs a change. I would happily vote for the Republicans over Biden, if they ran ANYONE other than Trump. He's rubbed me the wrong way for long enough, that he will never get my vote. If they ran Haley she'd get my vote in an instant. Most moderates I know feel the same way. We don't want Biden again, but he's still a better option than Trump. Again just my humble opinion, and those that I know IRL.

Yes, a laptop connected to Hunter Biden exists. The FBI seized it from a computer repair shop in Delaware.

l ink to source
so we know for a fact that Hunter's laptop exists and it belonged to Hunter. Fact, undisputed fact.

www.dailynews.com...

In the fall of 2020, just months before the presidential election, the Federal Bureau of Investigation lied to the news media and social media platforms in order to trick them into suppressing truthful information about one of the candidates.

Again, undisputed fact. The FBI, the DNC, and the rest of the IC suppressed the story so Biden could win the election.

nypost.com...

Nearly four of five Americans who’ve been following the Hunter Biden laptop scandal believe that “truthful” coverage would have changed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election, according to a new poll.

A similar percentage also said they’re convinced that information on the computer is real, with just 11% saying they thought it was “created by Russia,” according to the survey conducted by the New Jersey-based Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics.

And an even higher number — 81% — said US Attorney General Merrick Garland should appoint a special counsel to investigate matters related to the first son’s infamous laptop, the existence of which was exclusively revealed by The Post in October 2020.

the last part is based on polling, because there is no other way to get the data, other than have another election.

But it's right there, facts exist showing that the laptop story was intentionally hidden from voters and it was real and should have been allowed to be viewed and known. Spin it however you like, you sure as hell don't need my permission for that, but at the very least, you have facts, and links, and the truth.
