Id be happy if it was the CIA or NSA to take over and keep the knowledge base alive, I trust them more than some itcoin bilionare who wants to play spook

We know this because of the credit card expiration debacle on March 20th 2022, when the site went down for a few days. I remember the dates vividly as I was flying to Texas to move my sister across the country. We may not even have until May. I’ve been looking at tomorrow as the possible date of destruction since the October password debacle. I hope I’m wrong.

The only positive is that credit cards don't usually expire ever 12 months. If this one does, I don't hold out hope the site will come back.

There is no measure as far as I can see, that things will either endure or fail. There is no communication between the powers that drive this site and those that administer it.

I agree. It’s usually 4 years. However, I think the server fees are paid once a year. If whomever the owner is, is actually paying attention - they won’t renew for another year considering the cost, and they’ve clearly lost interest.

We had our business site through Go Daddy for years, you get plenty of warning and deal offers to re-up before they shut you down on the first date the payment doesn't go through.

and yes after owning the domain name since the 90s we lost it during COVID, but we got a reasonable facsimile once we got everything going again...

Been a member there for a while now. Go there every so often, but when I am on there, there is often nobody usually on at the time. I go there when ATS is broken down more. It's a good site, but I am not used to navigating it very well. I like the way this site is set up better. RN's old site was much easier to navigate, the new one is much more complex.

The IP addresses cannot be accessed on Cloudflare when you try to go directly to the website, so you won't be able to get on here after the domain name dies, even if ATS persists on the server beyond that.

That name will get snatched up so fast, then they'll turn ATS into a porn site, or worse, a liberal media website.

This is a response to FlyersFan thread which was closed and redirected here.

The EEP status codes displayed on the whois:

clientDeleteProhibited
clientRenewProhibited
clientTransferProhibited
clientUpdateProhibited

These mean the domain name cannot be deleted, renewed, transferred or updated. This is most likely a 'domain lock' which the owner pays extra for to prevent unauthorised access and fraud taking place. The owner has also activated domain privacy so only the domain registrar and the .com registry know who the owner is.

There is no way anyone can access the domain (legally or illegally) except the owner.

I have two domains with Namecheap. Domain privacy is free with Domain (Registry) lock costing $19.88/month which also stops dns nameservers from being changed.

One of the most annoying things about ATS. You’ve got to go to account settings and change it to desktop or actually post something to subscribe to a thread.
