at least we learned the reason for the war: russia feared a attack from nato and a little bit because of the nazis in ukraine (his argumentation on this was not easy to follow).

Russia will NEVER make a first strike in a nuclear event. The only circumstance that can lead to Russian 'nuclear' warfare is as a retaliatory strike.
Senior U.S. officials said that Biden has decided not to follow through on his 2020 pledge to declare that the sole purpose of nuclear weapons is to deter a nuclear attack against the United States or its allies. Instead, he approved a version of a policy from the Obama administration that leaves open the option to use nuclear weapons not only in retaliation to a nuclear attack, but also to respond to non-nuclear threats.

You don't think we could invade Russia with all our might and not be in Moscow very quickly? Ukraine is fighting them with both hands tied behind their back compared to what we would bring.

I wasn't there when Nazis were starting to be a problem before the world war, I feel like if I was there I'd want to do something about it. His father served, witnessed hell on earth, talked to young Putin about it, and now he is describing its resurgence, so it appears there's generational trauma and he wants to finish the fight his dad started.

The reason Ukraine is NOT using its airforce is because they all got shot down within weeks of the special operation.
Currently (know about weapons), the US is far behind its adversaries with regards to hypersonic weapons. They are unstoppable and can deliver conventional or Nuclear bombs. The Russian land army has never been more potent after over 2yrs of bloody war. Weapons have been developed, based on modern ground warfare, and at this point in time Russia could only be seriously affected by a nuclear strike.

Touche, I can’t provide it.
Memory served me wrong because I fell for the headlines.
Best I can do is former RU president, but alas, not a leader anymore.
thehill.com...
Seems neither side has done anything other than say they’d retaliate which is implied in MAD doctrine.
