The facts and end results won't change because...you don't like it.

facts are, she was accused multiple times of plagiarism plain and simple. the panel even said she did, and lied sugar coating it.
when the accusations didn't stop and congress got involved she resigned.

the result that everyone wanted from the get go was for her to be sh@@ canned and guess what she is not president of harvard anymore.

outcome was exactly what the board should have done from the start.

Harvard embraces diversity, people here are posting that they are against in a hateful way (e.g. Gay is a piece of # - sounds like hate to me) what they represent...what meaning can we all take from that?

I'd say that the biggest thing is you are not aware what this thread is about and still argue. This is about the Diversity officer at Harvard. NOT Claudine Gay. Now please post the link to the independent study done on Sherri Ann Charleston that absolved her of plagiarism, or admit you were wrong.
edit on 31-1-2024 by network dude because: Beto, what a stupid name.

If someone stated that Gay .. whom this thread is NOT about .. is a piece of crap because she plagiarized, then that's not a statement against her being black or female. That's a statement about her CHEATING to get ahead in life and it's a personal opinion/conclusion.

It's more than that and you know it. What this thread is really about.

The allegations suggest a now-familiar tactic in the debates over higher education — unearthing misconduct or improprieties in the scholarly records of academics and administrators — is being deployed in a campaign to discredit diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

“Havard’s president was a plagiarist. Harvard’s chief diversity officer is a plagiarist,” conservative activist and prominent Harvard critic Christopher F. Rufo wrote in a post on X on Tuesday. “We will keep exposing them, one by one, until the university restores truth, rather than racialist ideology, as its mission.”

www.thecrimson.com...

And calling her a piece of # and others' negative posts about Harvard, before an independent panel investigates this case, speaks volumes about what this is really about.

I admit I was discussing what I thought the topic of this thread was, that being plagarism and got the Harvard faculty member wrong, but I certainly got the intent of this thread correct.

Wow you still lost in the sauce, my friend, now you want to change the entire topic to make up for the mistake you made in the is beginning with the two prestigious positions in harvard that happen to be black using plagiarism

Life is a biatch even for glorified Harvard high positions of prestige.

Fire the liar she have no prestige and lost her credibility, just like Gay, the worst is that it happens to be the prestigious diversity officer

Yep life is a biatch.

Maybe harvard will make a law that using the intellectual work of others without proper acknowledgement.

It's more than that and you know it. What this thread is really about.

That's just Harvard covering it's own mess up by trying to insinuate racism/sexism and while trying to push the racist DEI crap on everyone.

Plagiarism and being promoted without being worthy of it is unethical. Kicking Harvard students out of school for doing the exact same thing that this Diversity Officer did ... that's beyond hypocritical and it's unforgivable.

And calling her a piece of # and others' negative posts about Harvard, before an independent panel investigates this case, speaks volumes about what this is really about.

More insinuations of racism and sexism. Predictable.

People are tired of the elites getting away with crap. People are tired of left wing DEI bullcrap whitewashing crimes and racism and sexism. They have a right to call out something as hypocritical and garbage when they see it, and not just accept Harvards sugar coating as 'right'.

can you quote the part in the OP where the intent of this thread is about racism and how racist is it to not like DEI? That was your claim. (I used your words, read them, and tried to understand your intent)

Again, Harvard did not conduct the investigation an independent panel did on Gay, and will do so for Charleston.

... says the person who is basically calling everyone sexist and racist because they say the Diversity Officer was wrong and shouldn't be in her job because she plagiarized. Those people saying so 'can read and understand what is being written and what happened', you know.

We are all tired of the crap, plain and simple, tired and exhausted of what these people are getting away with, when anybody else get persecuted, prosecuted and charged if they do the same thing.

Skin color does not have privilege and should never have privilege.

I was more interested in discussing plagarism within Harvard's standards and not so much the alleged plagarist. Now I see I was misled and the real target is diversity within Harvard, or did I still get it wrong? Is this a black thing and I'm missing it?

so for the quick recap, you don't understand what plagiarism is, and you are angry that people don't seem to like DEI as it's rewarding people for their skin color rather than their accomplishments. Oh, and you don't seem to have a thought of your own about if plagiarizing is wrong. Did I get it all in?

I admit I focussed more on the topic of plagarism rather than the plagarist but I haven't called anyone racist or sexist, you are planting those words here. I said hate diversity within Harvard and I pointed out why I believe that. I am now wondering if this thread is about the black thing? Is it?
