States can do what states want to in State Elections. Taxes. Laws. This is a Federal Election. GOP voters from Colorado should file tomorrow to state that the Colorado SCOTUS has enacted a state ruling based on Federal not State Law.RIght? No.

This is about the primaries. Who cares. That is the only reason they can do this. There is no way they can keep him off the federal ballot but the state primary....yes. The GOP will put up who they want anyway and they cannot stop that.

Five black teens were convicted and imprisoned for the 1989 rape and beating of a 28-year-old jogger in Central Park

A case that became known nationally as the Central Park Five.

These individuals spent nearly a decade in prison before their convictions were overturned amid growing evidence of the weakness of the prosecution’s case.

The real perpetrator stepped forward after new DNA evidence came to light. The Central Park 5 was later called the Exonerated 5 with their release in 2002 and in 2014, NYC reached a settlement with the men for $41 Million.

Not long after the five were arrested, Trump placed full-page ads in New York newspapers urging New York to bring back the death penalty due to the Central Park attack.

Trump also offered similar views in a 1989 interview with CNN’s Larry King. Trump said a TV reporter had asked him whether he had any compassion for the defendants. Trump said he told her, "Of course I hate these people, and let's all hate these people because maybe hate is what we need if we're gonna get something done."

Despite the exoneration, Trump on at least five occasions has expressed that he continues to believe the original verdict that the men were guilty and that a settlement made by the city was a mistake. Trump doubled down on his beliefs.

This, innocent until proven guilty, rhetoric doesn't exist in Donald Trump's philosophy.

It's guilty until proven innocent and then when proven innocent, you're still guilty.

***FUN FACT: One of the 5 men, Yusef Salaam, won a primary earlier this year for a seat on New York’s city council.

Salaam tweet on March 20, 2023: "For those asking about my statement on the indictment of Donald Trump—who never said sorry for calling for my execution—here it is: Karma."

During his campaign, Salaam produced a political ad, mirroring the ad Trump took out calling for Salaam's execution.

Salaam extended some grace to Trump at the end of his ad, writing that he hopes the former president gets what the Exonerated Five did not receive, a “presumption of innocence” and a fair trial. He added a rider in case the former president is found guilty.

“And if the charges are proven and you are found guilty," he wrote, "I hope that you endure whatever penalties are imposed with the same strength and dignity that the Exonerated Five showed as we served our punishment for a crime we did not commit.”***

It's almost like Trump is part of the plan, perhaps the lead role.

Well, if it is and I cannot stress the word ''IF'' here enough, if it is true then that would make Trump's ardent and loyal followers the biggest dupes, fools and gullible nimrods in American history. Yes? Can you describe them otherwise, ''IF" your scenario is correct?

and if he's legit, honestly cares for the nation, and isn't the "threat to democracy" the DERP brigade claims, then it would conversely make his detractors largely look like assholes, wouldn't it?

Great job showing your MAGA extremism, I guess you backwoods people think everyone is a commie.

Nice try Ricky Bobby!

limit the opposition from being able to compete by arresting them and then removing them from the ballot, how amazingly democratic of you.

It's high octane fuel for firing up Republicans!

No it's high octane fuel for firing up leftists when SCOTUS reverses. Things just escalated far beyond what most seem to realize today.

SCOTUS reverses, then it's back to packing the courts and rioting by the evil left, though mostly peaceful.

what's to stop conservative states from removing Biden for the possibility he is compromised? ....

Because there's no place in the Constitution or Federal or State laws that says that's a thing.

It's just the first idea that popped into your head.

can you explain how its different?

The Constitution allows the House to bring charges against a President theoretically for having committed high crimes and misdemeanors not for the "possibility he is compromised". That requires the President to have taken some definable criminal actions that can be supported by testimony and evidence. The "possibility that he is compromised" requires nothing more than somebody making up a story that exists nowhere other than in their mind.

In reality, however, the House could issue Articles of Impeachment against Biden for killing the Easter Bunny if they could get a simple majority vote to go forward. But to actually remove a sitting President by Impeachment requires a 2/3 vote by the Senate. That requires more than just a whim by the conservative states.

Good List.

Also now we know why Democrats have been on a "Save Democracy" binge the last few weeks. They were setting up their "Blame Trump" side show for the Democrat Colorado Supreme Court. ☢️

So why didn't the other States use this? The ones like MI that got their case shot down.

And your above comparisons have no link to verify?????

Where were those names actually barred in any court orders?

Let's see your case precedents 😀 SCOTUS needs you 😀

Each state is responsible for their own elections. In this case, the Colorado Supreme Court has ruled that Trump is ineligible.

Except a State can't override The U.S. Constitution can it? 😀

So the judge who said he did not or the CO SCOTUS who voted party line? Which is correct?

Besides, for the last time, there was no insurrection. You cannot have an insurrection as described against yourself. He was still in office. The current US government was not interrupted. At all.

President Trump said on 1/6 - “everyone here will soon be marching to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”

I guess the X means you fight the power huh?
