First off, I have 2 daughters. I did not let them go in dressing rooms alone -- they were on a swim team.

I would simply (without hysterics) tell them it was a transgender woman -- leave her alone -- she is not hurting anyone.

Teen girls would be curious. Very unlikely by themselves they would get all hysterical and sensationalize this. That would be their parents and how the parents handled the situation.

I am not outraged by the differences in the physical anatomy.

I am not shy to naked bodies but I am adult, this is a totally different issue going on and you know that.

I taught my children about the differences between males and females since before they were teens.

By the time they were teens they new the biological make over of males and females and the repercussions of engaging in sex and the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases.

All that was my choice as a parent, no the choice of some sick 50 years old in the girls locker room.

No hangup. I already expressed how I know when someone is transsexual or transgender. You see, once someone transitions they want to be called by their new sex and not a transsexual. This is because they are in the place they have worked to be. If Sam, a male, transitions to Sammi, a female, they are now female. It is not a lifestyle. It is who they are. So, again, do not lecture on what is what.

Yeah, it’s hard to know the factual details because of the sensationalized hysteria.

My kids were swimmers. There were public open meets, sanctioned meets, private club meets, etc.

There are categories, but in reality you swim against yourself. Against your own times.

This transgender woman had been a competitive swimmer before transitioning. if it was an open public event, she had every right to be there. And she would not be competing against little girls. She would have been competing against herself — her own times.

There may have been other adult swimmers. We don’t know. The venue is defending her right to be there and to swim.

As far as the locker room — we really don’t know what factually happened. I would hope anyone in this situation would be discreet.
