Secondly, remember: Just because Jesus, the Pope, Trump, Obama, Putin, Deepak Chopra or your favorite YouTube persona said something, that doesn’t mean it’s true. So, don’t take anything on blind belief. Rather, question everyone and everything, do plenty of research, and come to your own conclusions using critical thinking.

Exactly, that's what I mean by doing one's own investigation to look for the back story/facts which reveal certain truths, as in 'follow the money' which always seems to lead to the truth.

you complain cause people won't believe your confirmation bias sources, then tell them they have confirmation bias when they say use sources that are center or just left or right. not ones that are far left or far right

oh and just so you know, lots of your sources will tell what side they favor in their about us sections and there are more than a few of media bias reporting sites that will tell you what their bias is.

In the middle of 2020 President Trump told reporters that has identified all the top level crooks. But the situation was not right to prosecute them, because some of those top level crooks were running parts of his administration.

However, as former FBI director James Comey pointed out this past summer, Donald Trump will be very dangerous if he's elected again.

Hillary Clinton echoed those same sentiments just two weeks ago.

All the bad people are issuing warnings. The louder the warning, the more afraid that individual is.

I'll try to explain it for your case. When you feed yourself a steady diet of the media news that fits your beliefs you feel well fed. I absolutely know you do not read any contradictory news to that news which makes you feel well fed and confirms your beliefs. When I post any other news which contradicts your cemented beliefs the knee jerk reaction is to dismiss and discredit the offending news whether or not it is factual makes no difference at this point.

We have allowed the media to take way too much control over the messaging, to the point that an entire narrative can be adopted like a religion in a matter of hours. Looking for just the truth? LOL, not gonna happen. Everyone lies, and they lie bigley. The few who try to think on their own, cannot find trustworthy news from any real source, as that really doesn't exist in 2023. Times will change very soon, and I fear they will just get worse. On that, nothing would make me happier than to be dead wrong.

I agree. I look at the conflicting information and messaging about the bombing at the US border as a prime example.

Personally, I have shifted to more relying on more small outlet or individual reporting on social media. It takes time to build up a base of sources that have the track record for reporting factually and without bias, but it has been worth it. It is good to have multiple sources to help verify information.

All I ask is for people here to open their minds to both sides of news stories, especially the investigative news where the journalist actually did their own work and not just regurgitated someone else's opinion pieces throughout the MSM world.

Simply dismissing or discrediting the source does nothing to find the real truth.

Is that what's next if we venture into other news territory where most dare not go? The blue screen of death?

I know, it's becoming almost impossible, along with AI injected in there too, to actually know what is a lie and what is truth - or is it something else (conspiracy) or something somewhere in the middle. I suppose it might come down to actually emailing the journalist and get confirmation first or interviewing them on their methodology of investigation, who, what and where did they leave out or include... .
