Oh, so Hamas didn't mistreat the people of Israel on October 7th?
Or by launching all those rockets at them?
Which they vow to continue.
I wonder whether you have listened to what she said or her other speeches before making the same argument again and again.
She does condemn the violence from all sides. But she has spoken against the Israeli State and the way they have treated Palestinians the last 70+ years. I know you want to take the conversation to what Hamas did on the 7th of October but that's a very different conversation.
Mrs Weiss confirms what many of you don't want to hear i.e the mistreatment of Palestinians over 70+ years and the fact that Gaza is under occupation. Coming from a Holocaust survivor is a very powerful argument and difficult to argue against.
It is of the utmost importance listening to a holocaust survivor and they will all agree that because of their experiences, and this is key, that if a town in Germany was firebombed they would say and feel that "good take as many of them too as they take of us".
That is the reality of genocide.
This thread still exists and it seems there are no valid arguments against what Mrs Weiss has said. It's really damning for the Israeli State Propaganda when a holocaust survivor arguing that Gaza has been transformed into a death camp.

Yes.
A pair of classified C.I.A. intelligence reports issued in the days ahead of a major Hamas attack on Israel warned about a potential escalation in violence but did not predict the complex, multipronged attack that Hamas gunmen launched against Israel, according to U.S. officials.
The first of the intelligence reports, dated Sept. 28, described the possibility that Hamas would launch rockets into Israel over a period of several days.
Since William J. Burns became director of the C.I.A. in 2021, he has warned, publicly and privately, that violence between Israelis and Palestinians could escalate, echoing comments by other American officials who work in the region.

My goodness, is this a thread already? I want this thread to exist, please. It's what ATS is really about!
Because it sure is hard to swallow that free-thinking peoples anywhere in the world would deny that the mass murder of noncombatant civilian Palestinians in Gaza is a direct result of the method of response by IDF military, as described by Susan Weiss with her speech in Toronto.

Her experiences are not comparable to anything else we know of. And Gaza has been under continuous bombardment for several weeks resulting in so many deaths.

I guess that is what happens when you start a war by taking hostages and launch over 9000 rockets out of Gaza since Oct 7 into Israel.
How many years has Gaza been firing and targeting Israeli civilians with rockets?

Again. Israel is going after valid terrorist targets. The crime is Hamas refuses to evacuate civilians and cowers behind civilians as human shields.
“Gas chambers and the hundreds of concentration camps which starved, tortured, and eliminated Jews by disease, is repeated today in the Gaza concentration camp — the largest concentration camp in the world
“Death chambers and ovens have been replaced in Gaza with tons of bombs that destroys all in their path. Gaza has become a death camp,” Weiss said, condemning Zionism as racist colonialism.
“Conflating Zionism and Judaism is an unforgiveable crime to the Jewish people, to the Palestinians and to humanity,”

Yeah yeah yeah…
We can all learn lessons from longtime social justice activist Suzanne Weiss.
An admitted communist, member of the socialist workers party, pro Soviet, pro Cuba.
She’d thank you for helping to sell her book.
I have a feeling that it she lived in Israel and had to dodge daily terror rockets then she might have a slightly different opinion.
It’s easy for her to be the commie sjw living in safe old Canada eh.
Anything to sell books

Again. It’s on Hamas for using human shields, not evacuating their civilians, and turning neighborhoods into rocket factories, storage, and launch sites that have launched over 9000 rockets at Israel since Oct 7th.
The current ceasefire could have been held in place if Hamas returned the children hostages they “gloriously conquered”.
Hamas sanctioning the specifically targeting civilians with murder, rape, torture, kidnapping, abuse of children has nothing to do with freedom fighting.

I think you're mistaken again if you haven't listened to what both of these Holocaust survivors have said about Israel and its actions in Gaza that they both condemn.
