Armistice Day means ceasefire’: voices of those heading to London’s pro-Palestine march
"I am amused and appalled by the insistence that Armistice Day is the wrong time to call for an armistice,” the lawyer in London said. “It would not be the people who died in war who would suffer any offence that hundreds of thousands of free Londoners call for less war.”
www.theguardian.com...
Yeah "the lawyer in London Said", not the millions of ordinary Brits who were in the ranks and got all the worst jobs to do in the army.
The article has many peace marchers comments and it only takes one to get the point across.
And they assume they are talking for all of us, they arent. they are a minority but a minority with a loud voice because most of us are ignored.
Eeesh, imagine if the few on here spoke for all Americans.
Which is my job, btw.

My entire veterans group are rerouting to London for Armistice Day. We are all Iraq/Afghanistan/Northern Ireland veterans. Not old men.
We look forward to anyone disrespecting our day to remember our dead brothers and sisters. We are also going to be joined by many thousands of ordinary Englishmen/women who have had enough of those Islamic terrorist loving pieces of crap and their useful idiot apologists.
They will face the wrath of the entire nation who outnumber every last one of them 21 to 1. The crys of "islamaphobia" and the usual bs gaslighting will fall on deaf ears. Playing the victim will be ignored.
You do not get to call for the death of Jews on British streets. Nor do you get to call fo jihad on our shores and get away with it. Nor will you desecrate a sacred day for every Britain. The days of pandering are over. We see who you REALLY are now.
Hope you all stay safe and get home all right after

As if there is a problem.
The only problem is your media that create tension between different groups and as I have learnt the attempt to cancel the anti-war march in London has failed.

Yes especially when some members speak 'on behalf' of all Americans and argue in support of destruction and annihilation of Gaza, inciting genocide. So what? They say.... Gaza can be flattened, it's fine.

They can demonstrate in Palestine.
I know you either can't or won't understand.
As has been said before: Deaf ears.

You should change your name to John Snow.

We should call it Freezed Speech, and sell subscriptions to mute people.
The debates around Free Speech will be much smoother as well, with nobody listening to anyone. Wait! Not much of a change now, is it? Great business model!

Apparently many protestors will demonstrate in London this weekend. Is that great?
I ve heard the system wanted to cancel the demonstration but they didn't have the guts to do so.

I assure you, if they choose to disrespect or dishonour any Memorial Service there will be swift retribution.
The Israeli occupation is not only damaging the Palestinian population, but is also
corrupting the Israeli culture, and society. An Israeli Jewish lawyer, representing
the Israeli Conscripts who refuse to serve beyond the 1967 borders says: "The
occupation has eroded our code of ethics, and it has even contaminated the Hebrew
language of the fight against the murderous and unforgivable terror that struck
Israeli cities. We have grown accustomed to check-points in which thousands of
Palestinians have been detained for hours and humiliated by young soldiers. We
have been accustomed to pointing our rifles at children and women. We have
become tolerant of large-scale demolitions of houses. Finally, we have accepted a
state-sponsored policy of assassinations, neatly labelled by Israel as 'focused
prevention'. We have learned how to distinguish between roads for settlers, and
roads for locals. We have been asked to implement discriminatory laws for the sake
of the illegal settlements that have trapped our country with war".

If the two minute silece or cenotaphs are vandalised I think there's a decet chance the purpotrators would be beaten to death by crowds before police could get to them as it's so disrespectful.

Wow, wouldn't that be an appalling reflection of our society. Beaten to death for a crime that can be removed with a power washer.

I would take the opposite view, the crime would be the desecration of the war memorial

No. The crime is criminal damage to a war memorial. The penalties for which are clearly defined;
