It's a very sensible decision and I don't see why there could be complaints. There have been complaints by trans activists according to the link and other newspapers but since the UK admits patients in wards according to their biological sex, the decision is sound.

You mean to say there are brain surgeons who only operate on males and those who operate on females?
Or heart transplant, or hip replacement, you're saying there are separate doctors for each sex?
Prove it please. I don't believe you.
No I don't. It's a strawman.
Keep the conversation on the topic of this thread.
It literally is not a strawman, it could not be more on topic, you just don't have a reply.
Men and women are exactly the same medically. The only different doctors we need are the OBGYN. And if these are fully transitioned women, they will go to an OBGYN, they won't have to turn their heads and cough.

There’s a small matter of a rib.
And pelvis width.
And hormones.
And sexual organs.
And mammary glands.
And attitude/outlook on life. (I E women don’t want to share a medical ward with men who have mutilated themselves because of a mental disorder)
Just off the top of my head.

I think you have confused your arguments here. The UK admits patients in wards according to their biological sex and not 'gender identity'. So transwomen cannot be in women's hospital wards.
Forget about medical matters and diseases. We are not the same and we don't get the same diseases. Can men get cervical cancer? But that's not the topic of this conversation.
It is the topic of this conversation. The topic you created is focused on this. What are women, what are men.
They don't do genetic testing when you get admitted to the hospital, and outside of the OBGYN, which I already mentioned, we use the same doctors. We have identical bodies, get the same diseases and have the same injuries. We take the same blood pressure meds and antibiotics and have the same surgeries.
There is no reason to separate women from men medically. But this is not a medical decision, this is a political/cultural decision.
And as others already mentioned, it will be news for only a flash.
Do men get cervical cancer?
Out of curiosity...

Or ovarian cysts..
Or endometriosis..
Or Rett syndrome which is transmitted through recessive X chromosomes which can only be passed down from your mother.
And the fact that the OP mentioned an OB, which specializes in preconception, pregnancy, and childbirth.
But yeah, medically we are exactly the same. No need for specialists; I’m sure that would turn out great!

Are these fully transitioned people who have gone through surgery and all, or just people who identify as other sex?
Because if they are fully transitioned, what difference does it make? I understand that in some circumstances separation may be involved because patients need to be bathed and washed while in bed, but if they went through surgery what difference does it make?

Usually not. They still have their junk. And it still works.

The difference is that they have an X chromosome in every cell in their bodies. They may put on make-up, but they are men pretending to be women. And experience shows (such as in prisons) that this can have disastrous consequences.
The report, published by TransLucent following the submission of 102 Freedom of Information requests to NHS foundation trusts, showed that not a single problem had been raised by fellow patients about transgender women on female wards in UK hospitals.
The NHSFTs asked were in the following locations: London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Bristol, Newport (Wales), Sheffield, Leeds, Edinburgh, Leicester, Coventry, Bradford, Cardiff, Belfast, Nottingham, Kingston upon Hull, Newcastle upon Tyne, Stoke-on-Trent, Southampton, Derby, Portsmouth, Brighton, Plymouth, Northampton, Reading, Luton, Wolverhampton, Bolton, Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Norwich, Swindon, Milton Keynes, Southend-on-Sea, Middlesbrough, Peterborough, Sunderland, Warrington, Huddersfield, Taunton and East Kent Hospitals.
Richards said the gender-critical “women’s” organisations campaigning for single-sex spaces in hospitals claim there is a problem. “They claim they are not transphobic [but] after reading this investigative report, many, I suspect… will beg to differ.”

Oh yay! Another thread created for the opportunity to disparage trans people and a story from TERF Island to boot!
I'll just add this here:
Study of trans women in hospitals didn’t find one single complaint: ‘None. Zilch’

Women’s Single Sex Spaces in Hospitals.
Carry on as usual. I would expect nothing less.

"Women are less susceptible to infectious diseases than men, but are more often prone to autoimmune diseases. This higher prevalence is partly attributable to the X chromosome, which has many genes relating to the immune system." - a quick Google search pulled that up.
Apart from that, different skeletal structure, different musculature, and all the things Dalamax mentioned.
So, no. OBGYN care is decidedly NOT the only consideration.

Nope , it's a majority issue created by those who don't understand why everyone isn't like them , I work in the NHS and have heard no problems caused by trans patients in my area.
