500 people herded and locked in? According to other posts the Hospital is totally funded and run by a Christian Church and offered a safe haven on their roof I think the quoted article said.
If this is the same hospital, I also read a few days ago that the hospital asked Israel exactly where they were supposed to move the sick people inside and some were on ventilators and other medical support systems.

Might also explain why President Biden feels it necessary to make a personal visit to the ME Right Now.

He can't even find his way off a stage when making a rambling speech.
He should NOT be going into a war zone like this. It's DUMB.

a nuclear detonation may not be possible for them yet but surely they have enough radio active material to make a hell of a mess with dirty munitions

Your edit makes me think of miles long line of trucks along the egypt border

You beat me to the same, ugly, thought.

Can't be a coincidence....

Unconfirmed reports of UN forces leaving their bases in South Lebanon right now.
They know something we don't, or just as a precaution?

Dirty bomb is possible for sure.

Also, I've heard on a few occasions that you don't actually need weapons grade uranium to make a functioning nuclear bomb. Weapons grade is above 90% as I recall, and what they are officially known to have is 60%. I've heard that you can actually make a bomb with that, it just won't be very efficient.

I have no idea if that's true though.

According to other posts, the hospital was used to store munitions. I don't see a Christian Church group allowing that.

Who knows what the truth is though.

In very small amounts and not at those enrichment levels.

"Not as efficient" means a slightly smaller "bang" for the amount of material used....

And a much "dirtier" debris field.

Lots of radioactive material left unvaporized to contaminate the surroundings.

If anyone knows any active military they should run this up the flagpole, js
No one would know until people started getting sick.
Any reports of radiation poisoning in the region?

I cant imagine that this hasn't been thought of already by top brass In the US or Israel.

That was my understanding as well. But as I understand it, there's also a minimum threshold of enrichment under which the weapon won't go critical and it'll just be a dud.

Obviously we'd have to get someone more informed to clarify. It's not the kind of information that's easily searchable, and the exact details might be classified, I'm not sure.

Hasn't really been enough time for radiation poisoning to develop distinct signs yet, given the likely levels of exposure.

At this stage, the general effect of war would be more visible, and deadly.

That, and I really doubt that anyone has given a serious thought to checking the sick and injured with dosimeters.

If they even have dosimeters....

To inform them? Or to ask if it's happening?

We don't need to inform them, they're already aware of the possibility. To ask if it's happening, well, most of them aren't gonna know. I'm an Air Force veteran. 90% of us are completely out of the loop on the latest happenings, we're too busy doing our jobs. We rely on our superiors to alert us to info we need to know.

I guarantee it's been thought of. When I was in, we had yearly training on chemical, biological, nuclear and radiological weapons threats. And going into our deployment theater, we get briefings on the types of threats we might face in that theater.

ETA: That said, the tolerance around the world for any nuclear or radiation weapons is pretty much zero. I doubt Iran would risk it. The whole world would turn against them.

Lol, I was also wondering what sort of leadership a totally stupefied idiot will bring to this terribly serious situation. He’s gonna sit there farting and picking his nose, and asking for ice cream. We’d literally be better off to send the 3 stooges or the dumb & dumber characters.

Maybe the DNC Will “accidentally” drive him into a big battle. Martyr him and get rid of him for 2024.
See ….. some Americans and Hamas people are a lot alike !

Don’t worry, about half the guys in this thread would still love and support Iran after the dirty bomb. Same playbook / process as this thread.
