Should we fear white pride?

I resent being told that 'white pride' is racist, but other folks pride isn't.

Why do you have to twist it and make it all complicated?

If anything today, there is a growing racism toward whites.

I have a friend who works on a reservation.

They're still tribal. They still hold a grudge against other tribes.

Apparently, they're still conquered.

My paternal ancestors are Pennsylvania Deutsch Protestants from the Palatine migration in the 1700s. They had only what they could carry.

They worked hard and prospered.

Is that white pride?

As someone else said -- White Pride is a history of behavior by a certain group/type.

I fear the behavior.

I am "white".

Does that automatically qualify me as a "previous" slave owner? No. Absolutely not.
Do I believe slavery was bad? Absolutely yes.

In what universe am I now a proponent of "white pride" simply based upon the color of my skin?

I am proud of who I am. Not because of my ancestors, not because of the color of my skin, but because of what I've achieved, personally, despite the stigma and nonesense related to race and ethnicity. I am African, living in Europe. The stigma is there. I ignore and transcend it, becauase it's about who I AM... not what history says about me.

Yes, many were disadvantaged because of slavery. That being said, if you claim disadvantage in our current environment, you need to give examples. This will be scrutinized. This will be evaluated and fact checked. As it should.

The facts don't lie.

My 2 cents. Take it, or leave it. Up to you.

All frogs453 did was tell you this is the type of people that term is associated with.

when compared to the entire population even if it was millions that is a small subset of the European population as a whole prior to ww2.

The actual amount of Nazi's in Ww2 was not a huge swath, at worst a couple million people, vs 86 million as the german population.

That would make them a subset not the majority of the evil white people, now if OP wanted to talk about people that didnt have the strength of character to fight them, that is a different story.

Actual believers in aryan superiority were not near as numerous as hinted at in this thread, note true believers, not people that voted for a party that had greatly improved the economy (pre war). or people that were afraid to risk the wrath of the brown shirts. Digging around I saw in 1931 there were 2 million brown shirts.

The sheer amount of emphasis on a fringe movement within Europe and its lasting impact on the entire planet speaks volumes.

When I was down in the Caribbean digging up afro - American pottery I sat in on a lecture one evening and learned a perspective I never thought of, that Africans didn't work on plantations because Africans sent them there to work, they were sold to someone, who was paid by someone in Europe to buy African slaves specifically to go work for free to bring Europeans sugar to be sold at a profit.

The emphasis of the whole ordeal wasn't about the slaves, the slave owners, or the people who sold the slaves, it was that Europeans set up this intricate network of trade, oh, and some Africans got stuck in the middle of it.

That alone speaks volumes, there's a reason why when you look at a map Europe is center, why the time zones all start at a European location. I'm not sure if you grasp what I'm getting at here, but Europeans, white people dragged everyone into their world view, and made everyone else's history revolve around them. Entire mythologies have been built off it that get spouted off on here all the time. Red headed blued eyed giants from Atlantis and nonsense line that.

So, when you look at the entire population of mankind, what common denominator do you see when it comes to history? Is it from a Chinese point of view? And Indian one? A African one? Isn't it a little funny how all those names are Anglo names that everyone else just had to accept?

Mongolia changed the weather and the flow of the world is the easiest example, alexander the great, Attila, Rome, the Goths all completely changed the world for their time, and I would wager in those times names were again put in place by the victors.

Again you are failing at critical thinking by absolving a group to blame another group, slavery has been around forever in every corner of the globe practiced by every ethnic group in history.

Yes the europeans set up a network of trade and said hey I will buy those people off you...some leaders in africa went I can get rid of my enemies and increase my wealth, heck lets get to it.

If one link in the chain said no the slave trade dries up fast, its not like the dutch/english were rampaging across africa scooping up people wholesale some were but the majority were bought, which means a seller.

Expand your thinking you are just riding in a time frame where europe is dominating the pendulum will swing soon enough since euros are not having enough babies.

The world view of contemporary history is European. So its not some grand mystery why so many people associate white pride or whatever with the 60% made up BS Europeans wrote down to make them the benevolent civilization makers. It's called Eurocentricism.

At one point in time the Roman's did the exact same thing, and Europeans again, couldn't cope with the fact Rome fell under its own weight so they made up dumb concept Calle "the dark ages". Where Rome was the light of the world, and without it, no one could exist.

As for the slave trade, it was Europeans who fabricated the trans Atlantic market system, it was for pure economic reasons, they weren't stupid to know people from climate X would work better in climate Y than some Irish guy from northern climate A. And the west African- Caribbean passage was and still is a prime sailing route, so look at weather radar between the two conttinents.
At the end of the day, it was Europeans who created it, not the Africans who simply provided them with the poor saps who got sold into it.

I think the explanation I gave was reasonable for a marginalized group, many without any knowledge of their roots to collectively have pride as a group. The pride seems to be in things they have developed,or traditions they established after they were brought here against their will, and their families, names, language, stories, were torn from them.

I also stated that the term you may prefer of WP instead of pride in the roots of origin which are known, has historically racist context. Even used currently. This flyer that was distributed more recently speaks to your same argument. Notice the left corner? It was distributed by the KKK.




My point was, if you choose to espouse your White Pride, it's understandable people may side eye you.
