Once again, he literally bragged about doing this in Texas just this week. There's nothing hidden about it.

The last five shutdowns have all occurred when Republicans had control of the House.

Republicans have always advocated for smaller government. Sometimes this is the way you have to do it... By showing the people how unneeded most of the government is.

Irrelevant.
I commented on who's pushing who.
Both the House and the Senate create their own funding bills.
Then a vote.
And, it does not come down to party.
The president is also involved as the executive branch.

Learn something of the US.

"Oaths" are NOT made to the government, it is to the Constitution.

Almost all politicians are guilty of violating their oaths, from balancing a budget to maintenance of the border and restriction of illegal alien invaders.

The government is not supposed to be blindly followed by over zealous fanatics, ignorant of where true liberty and rights come from.

God granted us individual rights, NOT the government, our American Constitution, restricts the government not We the People, from abusive over reach. It just hasn't been enforced, mostly due to ignorant voters not knowing what it means, comprehension is not what it should be.

Do you know whom is not bound by oaths, We the People.
Know why?

Read the Constitution and find out.

Stop voting blindly for what ever is socially popular.
Life and government are not ran with contests of social popularity. That's HS bs, grow up and be an adult...

Idiocracy is supposed to be a satirical movie, not a political goal.

"However don't let me stop you rabid TDSers from showing how Trump not only has influence while out of office but has free room and board in heads everywhere."

He certainly does but, irony?

By the way "rabid TDSers"?!!!!

I think you mean, "critics"?

A president and former president being impeached and investigated. The government unable to get anything done and shutting down the government yet again. Two political parties that vote in incompetent or corrupt politicians; and a voting base that blindly votes based on emotion and identity politics.

It's the beginning of the end for the American Empire.

May not happen in our lifetimes; but seems to be on an invetible path.

Lol, the people on ATS crying the most about this, will still get their unemployment, disability, and WIC checks / cards.

Do you have a problem with Veterans expecting and needing to get their disability checks? I need you to say, "Yes I have a problem with that," or "No, I don't have a problem with that." Anything else will be deflection. Can you answer this question because I would like to know where you stand on this particular issue.

Just found a comic relevant to this topic. Looks like the government shutdown will be named Occupy Kevin.

This question seems obvious to me. But apparently not to anybody else?

Does anybody think that "Trump is influencing politicians" is the first time politicians have been influenced? They've always been influenced. And I couldn't think of many other threads here on ATS that talk about this real issue. But now that Trump is accused of doing it, suddenly everybody's up in arms about politicians being influenced? Where was your outrage before? Or did you have any outrage? From the lack of outrage it almost seems like you didn't care about it before.

What do they call this phenomenon?

Essential functions of govt always continue. The CR will pass. It's not controversial. We survived on CRs nearly the entire Obama admin.

No, I don’t have a problem with that.
I’m a vet, 22 years worth, no disability.

I was joking, but it’s probably true, that the biggest users of welfare programs will still get their benefits while complaining about the “shutdown”, which is no shutdown at all. All the important things will still happen.

I like this depiction, after the dems gave us the real thing for a whole summer of destruction, deaths, and injuries.
When in doubt lie like hell, even with cartoons.

Thank you! That was an intelligent, reasoned reply and I thank you for it.

As to your second thought, you're probably right. In my experience, the people I see around here on welfare are some of the lowest informed citizens. They just don't seem to be too bright.

Oh look, who’s the oversized guy in the middle, with what looks like 1930’s cartoon, exaggerated anti-Semitic features ?

And how about all the suggestions that each of these republicans were rioting at J6 ? Nice lies through cartoon. Embarrassing.
