The penis doesn't kill the patient. It's a natural, fully healthy organ that doesn't need removal unless it's cancerous. Neither do breasts need removal if they are healthy and on a 13 year old girl.
If you speak of the kids threatening su-icide because they have an organ they don't want, then you are falling for their blackmail.
If a kid is this suicidal, they need to be in a mental hospital, be observed and get lots of therapy. Not chopping off healthy organs. Teach kids to love who they are. Teach kids to deal with the horribleness that is a healthy, functioning body.

What you fail to acknowledge is all of this is new...new horizons and baby steps and what everyone is saying is that more, larger cohort group studies are needed over many years, which BTW, is ongoing now.

Actually, I just read that these studies need to go on for at least 20 years across an individual's treatment plan.

Sure there is suicidal and there are cries for help. The problem with suicidal is you won't get to many chances to save that live.
If there are methods to save a live, why not allow others to use it?

That mother accepted her sons suicide as his RIGHT to stop suffering in this existence. Every possible intervention was tried for many years. his quality of life sucked from his teen years on, probably before then, for whatever reason. How does a mother fight and fight for years to save a child's life by their OWN hand in the end. Torturous life. in the end she had to let him go in love and peace. he was not meant to live this life and took himself out.
