Prigozhin must know he has the support.

Prizoghin is claiming to have 25,000 armed men at his disposal as he crosses the border into Russia.
Now that may or may not be true, but if it is it not only poses a huge threat domestically but it will also have a massive impact on Russia's ability to defend the Ukraine counter-offensive etc.
If other militia's/mercenaries and regular Russian Army forces decide to join him it will certainly pose a very live threat to Putin, his advisors and the Oligarchs.

Imagine if he takes power and dials back on the war. He would probably be in the good graces or the world, west, and the oligarchs. He could easily be viewed as one of the most influential figures in the beginning of this century….
Or he may seek his legacy on the battlefield. I could easily see this too.

I have a feeling Progy (Prizoghin) won't be alive come Monday morning.
You don't start a coup miles from the capital.
In the last few moments the governor of Russia's Rostov region - which borders Ukraine to the east - has urged citizens to stay indoors.
Writing on Telegram Vasily Golubev said: "The current situation requires the maximum concentration of all forces to maintain order.
"Law enforcement agencies are doing everything necessary to ensure the safety of residents of the area.
"I ask everyone to stay calm and do not leave the house without the need."
