That is understandable. The perspective of the "passengers" may not have been in line with that of the Captain though. They were simply adventurists, looking for that next level life experience.

The current evidence points to catastrophic hull failure.
If this was indeed the case, death would have been swift and basically instant.
It is still chilling to even imagine. Such is life.

One would think they were liquified by such a huge amount of pressure, in a water medium.

The crew likely didn't notice since it likely happened in a third of a second.

The temps in the sub probably raised to temperatures you would find on the sun..
Enormous amounts of pressure squeezed every ounce of air from the sub so much and so fast that the last thing these people saw were the walls crushing inward at super speeds - so much so that they didn't even have time to utter a sound before they were already dead.
One can hope that the crew knew nothing of that had happened. If they had, the terror they would have experienced!!

Even a 5th grader would understand all the absurd idea to go anywhere in that boat. Lots of things point to some sort of the story where few people imitate their death to escape to secret place or join some club of new mini society of similarly escaped billionaires.
IDK. But hopefully, soon, more evidence will start telling that story.

Not saying the following happened, but just creating a 'what if' scenario here, as I believe they were on the titan, it imploded and those onboard were killed, but; just on the off chance this was staged, (unlikely, but just imagine):
They submerged, disappeared, and another submersible imploded.
If that happened, wouldn't another ship have to be nearby to collect them? Was there a ship even nearby when they dived? If not, then I doubt it could possibly be staged at all.

I remembered right he was a sonar operator and was in the higher end of the field in the navy. Anyway...well worth a watch if you're interested in the
