This is why I don't think the discussion would be worth the effort.
I really thought about doing it, I was even researching some of the finer points today.
I think I would really love to make a thread about it, but there are post like this that help me understand we have gone too far down the wrong road.

Everything lbgqt & political should be dustbined asap .
The old ATS had great topics & extremely intelligent people posting.
Now ATS is a cool down drum room for right wingers after they raved themselves into a tizzy over daily news from FOX , CNN & MSNBC .
That is all we hear in our daily lives is controlled opposition from both sides & now that is all we have here on ATS .
I post political things to expose the echo chamber of right wing piranhas that hijacked this site in hopes that other logical people will would chime in and drive the militia types off these pages .
There are nary many post on cryptids , ufos , ghosts , secret space weapons , magic , occult etc anymore.

I think I know what you are referring to. Hot button issues that are divisive, with no end in sight.

These issues affect people on a personal and visceral level, and all the conversation, truths, or proofs is not going to change anyone's mind.
