Did you listen to the DOD/Pentagon press briefing earlier today? They wouldn't say much of anything, because so much of what they know is "classified".

It will take you 20 or so minutes to get the answers, but most common questions I'm seeing in the forums, were answered during the DOD/Pentagon Press Briefing and Q&A earlier today.

The reason the balloons haven't been shot down isn't the fear that debris will land on populated areas. It is they don't know what pathogens or chemicals are inside the balloons.

If planes came into U.S. airspace and ignored air force requests and were then declared as hostile they would be blasted out of the sky and they wouldn't be worried about debris falling out of the sky.

China has admitted to being the source of the balloon.

Any pathogens present in it would be an overt and blatant act of war.

That's not china's way.

So not likely.
