Does this mean there’s more than one over the US, are they are keeping it hush?

I’d like to know if it’s dispensing anything.

I am quite familiar with how lasers work. Yes, they incinerate, but a tightly focused beam can incinerate within a fraction of a second. Also, a high-powered laser will cut through even a translucent balloon. A high powered laser can destroy an apparatus in seconds if there's dust on one of the lenses!

I'm not talking about a laser pointer. The US military has high-powered ground lasers that could pop a hole in this balloon before any inner heating would have time to take effect. That balloon is plenty opaque to see, and it is by necessity made of thin plastic, which would rupture easily if exposed to even a few milliseconds of concentrated heat.
These laser engravers only average around 50W (compared to pointers which average 0.1W or military grade which can easily exceed 1000 W) and are cutting into hardwood in milliseconds. They also will self-destruct if the lenses just get dusty, even with so little dust they look clean. How much faster would a 1kW+ laser melt through a thin plastic sheet opaque enough to be clearly visible?

People have been talking about 'the only planes capable of flying in the stratosphere are the u2 and sr71' ...wrong...those are all retired lol

If they are retired dont you think we have had weapon capable planes up there for 20 years? not to mention satellite weapons?

My question is how did it get that close? Don't we have Star Wars, and other means of tracking what is in the skies?

And why do they want us to Know its there in the first place and without a doubt that its tied to China?
IMO if this isnt a distraction its a build up for something else coming down the road.

Its not like the MSM aren't known to hide things and setup their narrative to accomplish their end goals. Reminds me of the early MSM reporting and setup of the too big to fail bailouts, 911 tied to Osama, WMD in Iraq, Trump getting golden showers, russia russia, etc.

I bet the real story of where this is heading hasn't been released yet.
The only truth we have now is:
1. MSM and gov't wants the world aware of it
2. MSM and govt wants the world aware that its china behind it.

I just looked at the news - people are seeing something from here. There's a picture to go with the story. I will have to post it later as I am phone posting from work atm. If someone wants to do the honors, it's top story at Fox4KC right now.

I'm guessing the Pentagon &c have been aware of this since it crossed the Arctic and kept a lid on it
I hate to think this thing was halfway across the continent before we became aware of it

I wonder if the Chinese are baiting us; we shoot this down, they justify shooting our stuff (satellites?) down

If that's true, I am getting nervous. Pre-emptive action to eff us over so they can take Taiwan ... more while we are dealing with the stone age?

I think they should wait till it's well over the ocean and drop it in the water. Just in case.

Someone mentioned it being sighted above Michigan's UP, could it be the same balloon sighted in Canada?

If they saw it coming. They should have just investigated it before it made Stateside. Well outside of American waters.

That should not have been a threat to the Chinese, unless they were up to no good.

Operative words from the Pentagon quote. was and continue floating over the US

It's not stationary over Montana

General Says Chinese Surveillance Balloon Now Over Center of U.S.
Feb. 3, 2023 | By David Vergun , DOD News |
As of noon today, the maneuverable Chinese surveillance balloon, which was over Montana yesterday, was at an altitude of about 60,000 feet and floating over the center of the continental United States in an easterly direction, posing no risk to commercial aviation, military assets or people on the ground, said the Pentagon press secretary.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command is continuing to monitor and leaders are reviewing options, said Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, who held a media briefing today.

"The balloon has violated U.S. airspace and international law, which is unacceptable," he said, adding that the U.S. has communicated that to Chinese leaders at multiple levels.

The balloon most likely will continue floating over the U.S. for the next few days and updates will be provided as needed, he said.

We had better take a closer look south. Wasn't that their entry point in "Red Dawn"?

If they launched it from Canada, what is Canada saying about it?
