The wind made it here to sc but no snow. And it's 19 degrees!

Blew all the covers off my winter garden last night so I'm probably going to lose some plants.....

I'll admit I did forget to bring in my trash can last night. It fell over in the wind but stayed in place. I looked inside and there's a big chunk of ice in it.

That's our wind chill here in NW Louisiana. Temp was 10° with 15 to 25 mph winds. I thought I'd felt cold until I walked through my gate, which is also at the end of my house. That blustering wind hit me and my skin felt like it was burning. It also felt like I was pulling a trailer all the way to work, driving against the wind, and I watched my MPG fall from 17.9 to 16.6.

Weather today is broadcasted to the extreme and people act like this has never happened before.

I can count, on one hand, how many times I've experienced weather this cold where I'm at. Once in the early 90's, 2021 and now 2022. Very cold down here is 20°, rarely we'll get temps in the teens.

Typical for SW Michigan. Lots of travelers aren't aware of the SW Mi Snowbelt and accompanying intense squalls. I've had to drive at night just using my parking lights (headlights off) during some of the heaviest squalls, because the headlights just reflect back into your eyes with no help looking beyond the front of the car.

Cameras and most of the plow trucks have cameras if you click on them. And kids got to name all the plow trucks.

Bookmarked and Thank-you! The live cameras brought back a lot of Michigan Winters memories. Mostly good.

It sounds like they are trying to get everybody off the highways into rest areas or truck stops. We have a new truck stop by the highway and they are lined up for miles because the highways closed.

Blizzard warning started 3 days ago and people insist on trying to drive into it.

Well it's pretty crappy here. Everything is shut down. Blizzard emergency. Everybody is supposed to stay home. Several hundred people stranded on the expressway.

Yeah there was maybe 2" total snowfall looking out the windows here in Metro Detroit. Cold and windy out there though. Reminded me of when the news tells people in Florida the looming hurricane is the end of the world and half the state evacuates, but then only the specific eyewall landfall zone was in real danger.

Only got about 4-5" instead of the 8"-17" but the windchill is about -20 right now. Gross. I need to start clearing the driveway but not until this wind dies down.

Oh, cooking a frozen lasagna for an hour, then letting it sit on the stove to cool for half an hour will make you hungry but help keep your house warm!!

Nothing like a belly full of baked noodles and a warm blanket when the weather is raging outside!!

I had some drinks in the garage and had to bring them in as they were freezing. You know it’s cold when that happens.
My pesty dog isn’t begging to go outside either.
The extension cord for my Xmas lights feels completely stiff and frozen.

HA!! The dog knows better. Every morning when I leave, my Beagle and Chihuahua watch me until I'm out of sight. If I leave during a storm, they'll watch me until I'm out of the driveway and then run inside. I pulled my Blink doorbell vid this morning and as soon as I shut my gate and turned to walk towards my truck, they were both running back into the house full sprint. They were both like, hell no, not today.
