If I may tease here, I like your analogy - "The dangers of the light bringer" (I guess it was unintentional, but fun nonetheless.)

Governments (which should be to say, peoples' nations) are free to conduct their civics as they deem appropriate.

It is clear that deficiencies in the "telling" of this story exacerbated the deficiencies in the "reporting" of this story. The core issue of the OP, the one questioning proportionality and direction of the actors, remains - (unless I am mistaken.)

People have split in their efforts to discuss this. Some directing angst and agitation about what they believe government should or should not do, a smattering fixated on the image of "Icke" as they accept it, still others have wondered openly about the subject (enjoy that freedom baby!) Lastly, like you, many are especially diligent in calling our attention to the fact that the very title of this thread: "Conspiracy Author' David Icke Banned From EU, Labeled A "Terrorist" is flawed.

Unfortunately, in my "relaying" the story here - the title was an obligatory inclusion. My lack of journalistic legerdemain is on display here. The title itself was significantly flawed. I presented something that could be considered "yellow journalism" because the title needed to be openly recognized as 'sensationalized' by the source's author. I should have recognized that it needed to be pointed out. I missed that - you did not.

I am grateful for ATS' consistent ability, in posters like you and so many herein, to keep the truth from slipping and sliding away on the slime the 'official' reporting community leaves everywhere they go. (See that? I blamed someone else for my shortcomings.... I'm normal.)

I think this shines a light on the lack of a true formal journalistic body within our collective communities. We grew to need that in any "press" - now we have it in virtually none. Sadly, all we appear to have now are "mouthpieces," some entrenched in their ideological/social clubs, some for sale to the highest bidder, and others displaying a kind of social psychopathy that defies any kind of reason.

Thanks for helping me figure this out everyone, now I feel like I understand this news item more clearly.

It seems that most of the British media are reporting on the ban regardless of political affiliations.

Even the left wing MSM such as the BBC has reported on the story:

www.bbc.co.uk...

Note: Many Brits still believe that the BBC is a reliable and credible source of information as well as impartial. They are as usually wrong just as with most other matters they believe in.

I've always thought of Icke as entertainment and didnt take serious the Luciferian lizard stuff until now. They act as if he is directly over target.

Icke has always been anti-Isreal and pro-Palestine cause; that's one reason he's banned from many areas.

Anti Isreal government acts should NOT be equated with antisemitism as the MSM too often does.

I only skimmed over this thread but I found no reference to this information that is obviously related.

They've deemed him a "thought terrorist", which is what this amounts to. It's weird because this stuff used to only be in dystopian movies and now we're living in it.

That is could be a valuable addition to the discussion. Perhaps this politician's is the more immediate object of their fear. He appears to echo terminology popularized by Icke - who also bears the oft-maligned label "conspiracy theorist." It may figure prominently in the decision of authorities to act as they did.

Thank you for the contribution.

It is a real story but as you can tell buried and the guy publically
going out on a limb. To concur with someone who has been ridiculed
harshly in the past for his views? Both men seem perfectly rational
to me. I always see those that ridicule the loudest are always the ones
most afraid of the world not being what they think it is. I'm sure these
guys just didn't dream this stuff up because there's a whole history
of a reptillian race in cultures around the world leading to the distant
past. And it's right in our face in plain sight.

I never thought that David Icke's speech and lectures will be branded as inflammatory, dangerous, and revolutionary.

They brought it to themselves and they have made him even more popular than he is.

David Icke for Mayor of London!!

Why not just make him PM given the revolving door at number 10?

So speaking the truth is now considered terrorism? That word is overused and misused just like the word racist.

Now I want to see what his latest posts are that would make them ban him from the entire EU!

Well if you could simply provide tangible proof of Mr Ickes claims of reptilian overlords and archons ruling the world that might be nice.

Where is that now if its truth he's punting?

Do you really think 'they' would allow ANY proof? Also he doesn't just talk about reptilians but go on focus on that since that is ALL people do when it comes to him. I am well aware of the dislike for this guy on this site, seen it from day one here. I never had the same feelings on him as I can make my own opinions based on what I read and research.

NOBODY should be banned for such things, it is ridiculous.

You are not wrong on this!
He is much more intelligent than all current figures in British Politics. From the PM to the left wing mayor of London...

So no proof then, how convenient.

I don't think he should be banned nether. As to my own felling's regarding the fellow, i find him rather entertaining.

Im wrong on what to be precise?

He is much more intelligent than all current figures in British Politics.

That would not seem to be to hard and hardly an indorsement now is it.

From the PM to the left wing mayor of London...

Yeh that would be what's called a step down by my guess.

Not that in the real world the fellow in question is ever apt to hold ether position to be honest.

I meant not wrong on this.

He knows how to capture his audience in a spectacular way. He is brilliant!! Camouflaging his disapproval of monarchy with reptiles and aliens.

No doubt hes a half decent orator but so was Adolf Hitler.

Camouflaging his disapproval of monarchy with reptiles and aliens.

Thats not exactly what he claims through just how you choose to interpret his nonsensical ramblings which amount to a lot more than just disapproval of the monarchy.

The danger lies in taking what the man says literally because the majority of such is a load of tripe.

He is very political and tries to camouflage his political opinions with reptiles and aliens.

I don't know whether he believes in everything he says.

Making comparisons between Hitler and Icke is just outrageous...

Same applies to most of you as you are the ones who take what your poliricians say literally. And that's where the danger lies.

Far as i can establish he believes his own claims and its not political camouflage, you are maybe just seeing what you choose to see Asmodeus3.

There is no comparison really Adolf Hitler was a far better orator than Icke could ever hope to be.

What are "poliricians"?

The danger lies in the belief of nonsense without any sort of tangible evidence to support the claims.
