I've seen the Declaration of Independence before iamthevirus.

I'm not quite sure what it has to do with Liz Truss's resignation or who's apt to be the next PM.

Declaration of Independence

Otherwise known as " Traitors Charter "

quite relevant around here as a symbol of independence.. the area declared itself the 24th state of the American union in the 1820s when the Hastings Americans rebelled against the crown.. the area is still known as the America ground there is the occasional reading of the us declaration of independence as british/American and pirate flags are flown alongside each other..

what is fun is jumping from Britain to America and back again faster than concorde

it pushes the people to do things.. within around 25 miles of where i am some 3 regions have declared themselves independent of the the rest of England for various reasons.. the most amusing is over the banning of a Donkey Deby and that gave us the cuckoo (unit of currency) the other 2 are either lean either to the french tricolour or the US stars and stripes, each as the revolutionary symbols of their respective eras.... but it's always in response to an overly dysfunctional parliament.

its pertinent as its where we are again..

At time of posting, here is the publicly declared support for each candidate:

Sunak = 141
Johnson = 57
Mordaunt = 24

You can follow the rolling update as the MPs give their support: The Guardian

Remember that the threshold is 100 votes to be considered, so, at this rate, it could end up being a one-horse race and the Party Members won't have to vote.

:Cheers:

the America ground hastings (1820), the independent state of cuckfield (1965) and half of Lewes (ongoing)
though it goes back further than 1820 with a number regions having the prefix foreign of, as not parts of England the most conspicuous is the foreign of Rye (Rye and Winchelsea) which got brought back as part of England through the Charter of Resumption in 1247..

as a bit of a separatist (indie Sussex in the 70s) the events today are fun and aimed at supporting local communities..am sure Wiltshire has a similar varied and fascinating history I worked at Odstock for a while but never got a true depth of the county.., I mentioned it as the US embassy has come down to do a ceremonial reading of the declaration of independence..

Many thanks.

Boris is very quiet.

Good.

Perhaps they've locked him in a cellar?

it all smells and for me that started with the 45-40% tax band changes as at the 45 range the either have own accountants or have the whole range of salary sacrifice schemes in play pensions and leccy cars a cut makes zero difference at that level but 20 to 19 makes a huge difference to the working poor. so it smells of smelly fish, am sure we'll learn soon enough just how smelly it all is..

Stinks to high heaven.

It will only get stinkier.

We should do away with career Politicians.

Guy Fawkes had the right idea.

Always respected your input mate but did this video not ring any bells?

Also thought some of these quotes were/are extremely true.

Cheers.
