The 10K to kids going to college is a drop in the bucket in the overall sceme of things.
1/2 trillion dollars. if that doesn't sound like a lot, say it again slower
I can say it and I can also sayPP "loans"
Most of the US’ $800 billion in paycheck protection funds went to the richest 20%
More than half a trillion.

My point is that some of us have a major struggle, and can anyone blame us for feeling like it's a slap in the face, when we pay all our bills and others just get it all for free - and I see it more and more.
I struggled, and actually lived in poverty. I paid all my college bills myself. I don't see it as a slap in the face.
I am glad others don't have to do what I did, or your friends had to do. It is a broken system.

The USA is bankrupt.
People agreed to loaning out the money and agreed they would pay it back.
US colleges and universities are sitting on BILLIONS of dollars. Here is a list of 10 that all have over 10 BILLION dollars laying around:
Columbia University
University of Michigan
University of Notre Dame
Texas A&M
University of Pennsylvania
MIT
Princeton
Stanford
Yale
Harvard
Why on earth would the govt pay anything???
Does it help those who got out from under their debt servitude on their own? Nope.

Just wanted to let you know your OP was full of sound reasoning.
Thank you. I think the vast majority of people share my view, we just don't hear it on here.

A Nation unwilling to invest in its future, deserves none.
It's unconstitutional. Therre are several lawsuits already being filed. Next month Biden will come on tv and say he tried, but the only way to do it will be to have a democrat House and Senate. It's a ploy for democrats for the midterm elections.
And they (we) are going to get stuck with the bill.

Does it help the pilgrims that had to eat soil? We have to go forward.

We are stuck with ALL the bills ALL the time.
Something about this one irks people more.
Maybe because they see people at their level getting them. It's weird because people have no problem
with the Rich getting so much, or the very poor, but the second the middle class gets some...
As you know, some times Hail Mary's work. I'm not saying this is a good thing either.
What would have been a smart response from the other side, is yes education is important, but so are the trades.
How about something for the trades? or something along those lines.
