Russians are defending their country more so than Ukrainians are defending their country.

Could you please show me anywhere, and I mean anywhere, that Ukraine has laid claims to Russia?
Could you also please show me exactly where and how Ukraine was planning to invade Russia?

This really is Silly Sunday.
You're not on a session with RT are you?

The moment Ukrainians did Euro Maidan and started targeting Russian speakers in Ukraine, it was the moment Ukraine became a threat to Russia and Belarus. This happened in 2014. Budapest memorandum only applies to a neutral Ukraine, not to a Ukraine which is a threat to Russia and Belarus.

6000 nukes beg to disagree with your threat assessment.

Many things are done preemptively. The West loved Hitler and thought he was Jesus second coming. That assumption proved wrong. Waiting for an invasion before fighting back is the wrong strategy. A lesson Russians learned in 1941.

You seem to be mistaking massive assumptions and one-sided opinions as evidence.

A lesson Russians learned in 1941.

A lesson learnt in the West too which is why the west is standing up to the latest Dictator throwing his weight about.

What west ? Be more specific. Germany is west of Russia how far west you are willing to go? and also include your point of views and explanation so we could somehow see your point. Right now what i read from you is like a argument from.... child.

... after they in 1939 signed a non-aggression pact with Hitler so that they could get half of Poland.

The West learned nothing. Apparently. If the west wanted peace, they would not accept Ukraine into NATO. The west is not for peace. The west is for war.

I'm beginning to think you're doing this on purpose.
Yet another thing you've got arse about face.

The UK and France declared war on Germany.
Stalin and Russia made a peace agreement; The Ribbentrop Pact.
Which of course Germany broke in 1941.....Russia would have been quite content turning a blind eye to Nazi aggression and all their excesses and brutality.

You really aren't very good at this.
At least its the summer holidays and you've got no school tomorrow, maybe you could look up some elementary level history books and brush up on things?

Let's see. Who started the war? It sure ain't Russia. In 2014 Ukrainians did Euro Maidan to join NATO. NATO refused Russia's membership but approved Ukraine's membership. NATO is not an organization of peace. NATO is an organization of war.

Do you live in an alternate reality? Ukraine has not been accepted to NATO. In fact, I dont even think they submitted an application. And who knows if they would accept it - NATO cant even accept Sweden/Finland without severe friction with some members.

But it seems like that it is Russia who started the war. FACT

You've struck out two or three times now; Ukraine was denied NATO membership twice.
If Putin hadn't invaded Ukraine there wasn't a hope in hell they were going to be allowed to join.

Yet another major miscalculation on Putin's behalf.
