The same people have always told us that that's racism. Disgusting, horrible, racism, and it has no place in this country. Then they turn right around and forfeit any opportunity a white man, white woman, or black man has of being considered.

They could have at least tried to hide it by throwing a mix out there and then choosing their token but they couldn't even do that. You know what's funny? I was just reading yesterday that Reagan wanted to be the one to appoint an Italian American, the first one, so he picked Scalia. Trump announced he was going to appoint a woman. So the hang up here is it is a black woman? I mean I don't hear about sexism when it was Trump, or racism when it was Reagan.

A person in position to hire someone for a federal job, when publicity listing the requirements included skin color and sex and you don't care. Even tho it is illegal, and immoral. Even tho people from all across this nation marched and protested to end such treatment. Thanks for exposing that, it is appreciated when placing your offerings in context. Perhaps you would be more comfortable at one of those storefront sites with people of your like mind?

No it actually makes others who seem to be very afraid of smart qualified black people put into positions of power identified. I've already seen caricatures of photos of the nomination proceedings with Mrs Jackson’s mouth and lips exagerrated just like the good old days when America was great, so I'm not buying your sad it's all about reverse racism story.

No, it is not about a black woman. It is excluding 97% of the candidates for a SCOTUS position. That's it. If he actually had a list to review it would help but since he is Sleepy Joe he gets a pass.

Hey if you were not speaking these very same words when Barrett was picked by Trump only because she was female, then you have no standing. The only difference is this woman is black.

The court should be fully diverse in my opinion, with varied races and ethnicity. They represent the country which is not all white and male. As we see females and other races are certainly as qualified.

No one seems to be talking about all the other people that were not considered as a woman was the determined choice by Trump. Beginning with the thread title, it's filled with "although she doesn't have trial experience, she'll be great!" "Her family is beautiful". "The left hates conservative women". There were some against her very conservative religion with the worry it would interfere in her decisions, but overall a very supportive 17 pages. No one even blinked that she couldn't remember the 1st amendment rights.

So why was there no outrage about all the men not considered?

Sadly, had mister biden kept his mouth shut about who he would nominate, this would not be an issue.
He can nominate whom he chooses as potus.
His statement about racial and gender discrimination with respect to a hiring someone for a federal job is disgusting; and worse makes it appear as if on an even playing field the nominee would not survive the hiring process.
