No I don’t think it is the end of the world, but I do think inflation is about to go 👆

Well, it's a good thing we haven't been buying between 15 and 20million barrels of oil a month from Russia for the past two decades. You know, because we're 'energy independent'.

I have already pooped my pants in utter panic.

Utter panic.

Is 'utter panic' near downtown Detroit? Because I've been there too...

I guess you're planning to take all the rest.

I live in New Jersey, if my neighbors* have even seen the first two in person I'd be shocked.

On a serious note, from my studies of economies that have crashed, time and time again history tells us that alcohol is more valuable than gold sometimes!

Which is why I said that, it's not a joke. I have enough booze to open a small to medium size liquor store.

Always have the three A's, ammo, arms and alcohol. A more perfect combination does not exist.

Is this a panic pants thread? Are we thinking it's the end of the world?

I feel as if this is a good time to be a gun nut who collects bourbon.

Has anyone mentioned Nuclear/Chemical/Biological warfare suit and mask?. I have 4. Ready to go with extra Vacuum sealed filters.

I'm open to offers. No lowballers, I know what I have here.

All us “crazies” are looking pretty smart these last few years.

Germaphobe - check
Gun advocate - check
Gardener - check
Prepper - check
Suspicious of the government - CHECK

Now I’m looking at everyone else like Why are you so dumb???!!!!

I had a relative laugh at me for always being prepared, laughing. In the same breath he said if tshtf he would go
To another relatives house that is a big prepper because they had enough to survive on for years.

I’m not against prepping specifically, but what happens when you run out of supplies?
It might be good for temporary events that cause shortages but long term you need to be able to survive outside the system.

Some of these supplies are to live outside the system, ie seeds/tools.

Some are to tie you over until things normalize. If things don’t normalize you will at least have a head start.

I currently have 10 gallons of dried beans and rice. I can live off the land where I'm at as well and have a stocked pond and plenty of wild game. A few things I'd suggest, along with everything else stated in this thread, are these books. I bought them in 2017 but they're still available online. I've posted them here a couple of times in the past.

Identifying Edible and Medicinal Plants

One of my favorite books that I own is Foraging: Pennsylvania and New Jersey. There's literally weeds that grow on my driveway that I found out are edible. Not that I would eat those but I think people would be surprised how many plants are in fact edible that you pass by on a daily basis.

First, GAS

Shelf stable foods, rice, beans, pasta, canned goods.
Make sure you have means to store and know how to rotate.
Water, water purification

Everything gardening related, seeds, TOOLS - I can’t stress this enough. I think if things get bad these things will be harder and more expensive to get.

PEST control.

Durable clothing. Order those jeans now, and good shoes, and outerwear.

When people talk about prepping we are not saying War is coming to our door, although it might. We know that there are consequences for war even many thousands miles away. Prepping will have you ready for anything, job loss, illness, or the most likely case for many of us - inflation!!!!!

Please add anything I’ve forgotten!!!

Stocked my "iguana on a stick" and "bottle caps"
Those in the know will get it .

I had to laugh. My first thought when I read the OP was, one man's pest is another man's dinner.

I think us backwoods country folk may have a different list of must haves than those that live in the city or suburbs.

We all will have lists. I guess that is what makes bartering a prime feature of survival.

That Army survival manual cracks me up.
My father taught me everything from it. He was in the Army 30 years.
I was barely 8 and he taught me how to identify poisonous or edible plants and to this day I still remember.

Parents, teach your kids these things!

I'm no germaphobe. You need germs to increase your immunity, and if SHTF, you won't have easy access to Nyquil, Tylenol, or Dramamine. I've recently found out that I'm quite the sh*tty gardener, too. My tomatoes never grew and my biggest cucumber got to about an inch long.

That one really hit home

Same here, except here there are tons of poisonous stuff too and now we have a whole generation of people that can’t tell a poisonous berry from a grape.
