I guess the only hope is Ukraine and Russian soldiers realize it’s not worth dying for these phony causes and don't do any heavy war that will slaughter thousands of citizens. This is NOT Afghanistan with mountains and a county like Pakistan to hide in.

This is serious business since Poland and other NATO countries being on the border of Ukraine may get involved somehow and give Russia an excuse to fiddle with NATO therefore WWIII.

Putin may be losing his mind, we don’t know what he may do, He’s a dictator hitting 70 and it's reported he’s isolated and a little crazy.

Putin's address to Russia too long to post all of it here.

Putin announces 'special operation' in Donbass

Edited with the correct link.

And now they may start the killing. It looks like they are going to annex those whole areas.
Putin is taking a step at a time like a chess game. Will Biden match him move for move? The clock is ticking, it's his move.

They're stealing a sovereign country's land right before our eyes. Will the US and the EU pour all those sanctions on Russia? And yell
CHECK!

Yup. Apparently, the goal of the operation is to de-militarize Ukraine.

Not from what I see. Earth Cam live Kyiv

In fact NBC is reporting on possible explosion, but where?
From: NBC news
The report is titled that explosions are heard but nothing in the article says anything about that.

So is this invasion real or a FFE being put on by the Trotsktists and supported by the media?

Putin announced it himself. The airspace being shut down was a dead giveaway that it was about to happen.

Actually if the nations who signed the Budapest agreement actually lived up to their responsibilities we would not be here.

The Budapest memo was signed by Russia, the US, the UK, China and France.

The Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances refers to three identical political agreements signed at the OSCE conference in Budapest, Hungary on 5 December 1994 to provide security assurances by its signatories relating to the accession of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The memorandum was originally signed by three nuclear powers: the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States. China and France gave somewhat weaker individual assurances in separate documents.

The memorandum included security assurances against threats or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.

As a result, between 1994 and 1996, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons. Until then, Ukraine had the world's third-largest nuclear weapons stockpile, of which Ukraine had physical, but not operational, control. Russia alone controlled the codes needed to operate the nuclear weapons via Russian-controlled electronic Permissive Action Links and the Russian command and control system. Formally, these weapons were controlled by the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In 2009, Russia and the United States released a joint statement that the memorandum's security assurances would still be respected after the expiration of the START Treaty.

After the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and US stated that Russian involvement was a breach of its Budapest Memorandum obligations to Ukraine which had been transmitted to the United Nations under the signature of Sergey Lavrov and others, and in violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity. On 4 March 2014, the Russian president Vladimir Putin replied to a question on the violation of the Budapest Memorandum, describing the current Ukrainian situation as a revolution: "a new state arises, but with this state and in respect to this state, we have not signed any obligatory documents." Russia stated that it had never been under obligation to "force any part of Ukraine's civilian population to stay in Ukraine against its will." Russia suggested that the US was in violation of the Budapest Memorandum and described the Euromaidan as a US-instigated coup.

Budapest Memo and its intent -

According to the memorandum, Russia, the US and the UK confirmed their recognition of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine becoming parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and effectively abandoning their nuclear arsenal to Russia and that they would:

* - Respect Belarusian, Kazakh and Ukrainian independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.
* - Refrain from the threat or the use of force against Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
* - Refrain from using economic pressure on Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine to influence their politics.
* - Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine if they "should
become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used".
* - Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
* - Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments.

The 1994 Budapest Memo - Budapest Memo - PDF

Ukraine: The Budapest
Memorandum of 1994
The following is the text of the Memorandum on Secu-
rity Assurances, known as the Budapest Memorandum,
in connection with Ukraine’s accession to the Treaty on
the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, signed Dec.
5, 1994.

The United States of America, the Russian Federa-
tion, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland,
Welcoming the accession of Ukraine to the Treaty
on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons as a non-
nuclear-weapon State,
Taking into account the commitment of Ukraine to
eliminate all nuclear weapons from its territory within a
specified period of time,
Noting the changes in the world-wide security situ-
ation, including the end of the Cold War, which have
brought about conditions for deep reductions in nuclear
forces.
Confirm the following:
1. The United States of America, the Russian Fed-
eration, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to
Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the CSCE
[Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe]
Final Act, to respect the Independence and Sovereignty
and the existing borders of Ukraine.

2. The United States of America, the Russian Fed-
eration, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland, reaffirm their obligation to refrain
from the threat or use of force against the territorial in-
tegrity or political independence of Ukraine, and that
none of their weapons will ever be used against Ukraine
except in self-defense or otherwise in accordance with
the Charter of the United Nations.

3. The United States of America, the Russian Fed-
eration, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to
Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the CSCE
February 21, 2014 EIR International 35
Final Act, to refrain from economic coercion designed
to subordinate to their own interest the exercise by
Ukraine of the rights inherent in its sovereignty and
thus to secure advantages of any kind.

4. The United States of America, the Russian Fed-
eration, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to seek
immediate United Nations Security Council action to
provide assistance to Ukraine, as a non-nuclear-weapon
State Party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of
Nuclear Weapons, if Ukraine should become a victim
of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggres-
sion in which nuclear weapons are used.

5. The United States of America, the Russian Fed-
eration, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland, reaffirm, in the case of the Ukraine,
their commitment not to use nuclear weapons against
any non-nuclear-weapon State Party to the Treaty on
the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, except in
the case of an attack on themselves, their territories or
dependent territories, their armed forces, or their allies,
by such a state in association or alliance with a nuclear
weapon state.

6.The United States of America, the Russian Fed-
eration, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland will consult in the event a situation
arises which raises a question concerning these com-
mitments.

This Memorandum will become applicable upon
signature.
Signed in four copies having equal validity in the
English, Russian and Ukrainian languages.

Now Ukraine is thinking about developing nuclear weapons to protect against further Russian aggression. I dont blame them... Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons and signed the Budapest memo. A lot of good that did them.

People are reporting blackouts, massive amounts of people evacuating the city, and explosions happening everywhere. I don't see any of that happening.

Question -

Why does Russia have a seat on the UN Security Council? The seat they occupy belonged to the USSR. When the USSR collapsed Russia just decided themselves that the seat belongs to them.

Yeah, they bogart their way onto the council and didn't follow the proper protocols. They may be expelled after this stunt. We'll see.

Twitter is apparently starting to remove any video dealing with russia / ukraine.

Tictoc apparently is allowing the footage. Videos of russian cruise missiles. SU-25s near odessa, russian airborne from inside the plane but before deployment,
