And the law in Florida is that you can't have sex with a minor. The law in the entire United States is that you can't compensate a minor for sex.

Those are the laws that matter in this case. No the laws anywhere else.

Any grown man having sex with a minor is a pervert. It doesn't matter if he does it where it's legal. Unfortunately for Gaetz, it wasn't legal. So not only is he a pervert but he's almost definitely going to become a prison b***h as well.

That's what it sounds like to me. He's trying really hard to justify that's there's nothing wrong with paying a minor for sex.

Your words not mine....

Lol OK whatever... I said he is most likely in big trouble due to FL age of 18 and the fed laws of pay for sex etc...

Do you have issues with a 20 year-old having sex with a 17 year-old in the 40 states where it would be legal?

how about a 25 year-old
30?
40?

Let me know where the perv line is...

I actually think Florida's Romeo & Juliet law is a good guideline. If you're over the age of 18, you can't have sex with a minor that is more than 4 years younger than you. Although even then, anyone having sex with a 14 or 15 year old is kind of pervy.

I understand the statutes and they are so open ended it is rather easy to get anyone if they wanted to.

There's nothing open ended about the Federal statutes.

I think even 16 is really on the line of a perv even if the person is 19 or 20. As to age I don't typically care after that, so a 20 or even a 40 year age gap is more of a norm these days than not as long as both are good with it. I'm 9 years older than my wife, but we got married when I was 39 and she was 30. Women in general will date/marry much older men then them for the security and all, so who am I to call it out as a perv move.

If I was single in my 40s with a ton of money young sexy women would not be an eyesore. Even back in my early 20s I never dated anyone under 18, but 16 and 17 are the limits in many place, more than 18 is, so once again I'm not going to call a person a perv because of a legal age gap, and I would not label them as a child rapist or in the same bucket as a person like Epstein and the people that were involved in what he did, including the Clintons which the left seem to forgive all they did, but quickly use as a label for the right as in this case.

You have sex with a 17 year-old in 40 states and it is legal, you take the 17 year-old to dinner first and you can get 10 for paying for sex with the dinner... open-ended may be wrong words here....

You seem to be counsel, judge and jury not just for Gaetz but posters in here.

If my daughter was 17 and getting paid to have sex with a 40 year old man I would question my parenting before the guy having sex with my daughter to be honest. I know he is a dirtbag....

This is not rape also. It is consensual. No matter how we could see it as morally wrong she took money to have sex. Based on legal logic she is a prostitute so where are her changes?

We should however also be concerned with sitting intel members banging known foreign national spies though...

It's felony in EVERY STATE to pay a minor for sex. What part of that is not sinking in?

The way I see it, the brain isn't fully developed until around the age of 25. If you have a fully developed brain and you're having sex with a teenager you're a pervert.

There are no federal laws pertaining to prostitution and Florida does not charge minors with prostitution. In fact, only 13 states have laws on the books that allow minors to be charged with prostitution.

What part is not sinking in with you that I agreed to that a number of times. My point from my first was how you all want to sensationalized this more than it is. She was willing and of legal consent age, maybe not in FL. but in 40 other states and where they actually had sex she is... You all suggest a child sex pred...

Lol OK... I bet she knew full well what she was doing... I think there are extreme differences between a 16/17 year-old compared to 14/15 year-old. This is why many states have a middle school where 8/9 grads are in their own school as they are too old for the younger group and too young for the older group. I think there is a bigger mental/emotional gap between 15 and 17 than 17 and 35....

Just a question and not trolling...

How does that work in another country? Do fed laws carryover in a country where what they did was legal?

Predatory behavior against minors is reprehensible. If you want to be an apologist that's on you.

You can't be charged in 37 states. Only 13 states have laws that allow minors to be charged with prostitution.

The reasoning being that many cases, underage sex workers tend to be groomed into the role from an early age. They're not a criminal but the victim of extensive sexual abuse.

Normal and typical leftist behavior to turn it on me.

Who was the predator in this case?
