As a result of strikes, the total losses of these formations amounted to up to 1,000 personnel and more than 100 pieces of military equipment.

High-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit temporary deployment point of 14th Mechanized Brigade battalion manned by nationalists and foreign mercenaries near Chasov Yar, Donetsk People's Republic. The attacks have resulted in the destruction of 43 militants and about 170 injured.

High-precision attacks launched at provisional bases of 40th Artillery Brigade and Kraken nationalist group deployed in Kharkov have resulted in the elimination of up to 200 nationalists, including about 50 foreign mercenaries and 19 units of armament and military equipment.

Pinpoint attacks of Russian Aerospace Forces launched at the bases of Right Sector nationalist group deployed in Artyomovsk (Donetsk People's Republic) have resulted in the elimination of about 300 nationalists and up to 30 units of armoured and special motor vehicles.

Attack launched at a provisional base of 45th Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) deployed near Shcherbaki (Zaporozhye region) has resulted in the elimination of barracks with over 70 servicemen.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on anti-Russia statements by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida

We noted the recent hostile, anti-Russia comments by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, including his biased statements on nuclear weapons. The direction and tone are bewildering. For example, he justifies the choice of Hiroshima as a G7 summit venue by noting that the city has no more suitable alternative at a time when the use of nuclear weapons by Russia and the threat to use them is becoming a reality in conditions of a destabilised international order.

This is a shockingly cynical attempt to blend unjustified criticism of Russia with the context of the Hiroshima tragedy. It would be logical to assume that, against the backdrop of an approaching anniversary of tragic events when nuclear weapons were used against Japan, Tokyo would emphatically denounce the country that had launched criminal nuclear strikes against Japanese cities in August 1945. Contrary to the servile pro-US rhetoric of the Japanese authorities who have done a lot to erode the historical memory of their own nation, the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki cannot help but recall that Washington had issued that barbaric order.

Attempts to distort, for propaganda purposes, the logic of deterrence on which official Russian commentaries on the subject of nuclear weapons hinge and to portray Russia as a country threatening to use nuclear weapons are absolutely unacceptable. We specially reject this, especially since the United States, Japan’s patron, commonly exposes the world to the main nuclear risks today. In turn, Japanese representatives make their provocative comments from under a US nuclear umbrella. By provoking an aggravation of the Ukrainian crisis and unleashing an intensive hybrid standoff with Russia, Washington and its allies are balancing dangerously on the brink of an open military confrontation with Russia and therefore on the brink of a direct armed conflict between nuclear powers. Obviously, this clash would be fraught with the possibility of nuclear escalation.

However, the Japanese establishment prefers not to notice this destabilising line of its American suzerain.

Regarding Tokyo’s deliberate line to note reduced nuclear risks and to move towards a nuclear-free world, it leaves a feeling of insincerity. This line directly contradicts episodic reports regarding insistent Japanese calls that the United States beef up its nuclear potential in the Asia-Pacific region. For example, this was clear from Tokyo’s tough criticism of the Obama administration for its decision to renounce submarine launched cruise missiles (SLCMs). Japan actively praised the Trump administration’s programme to build up low-yield nuclear weapons, including renewed nuclear-tipped SLCMs. One cannot help but note a discussion, initiated by influential persons, on the advisability of deploying US nuclear weapons in Japan and conducting joint nuclear missions similar to those stipulated by NATO in circumvention of the requirements of the 1968 Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. At the same time, the US-Japanese agreement making it possible to return US nuclear weapons to Okinawa remains in force.

In this context, we have reason to suspect that this implies Tokyo’s striving to use similar statements on the subject of nuclear weapons to downplay the historical role of Japanese militarism in the context of World War II and for justifying its purposeful deviation from the policy of self-imposed military restrictions.

Over the past 48 hours, this brigade has lost over 600 servicemen. UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine hold consultations in Istanbul to unblock Ukrainian ports for agricultural exports

On July 13, quadripartite consultations on the issue of unblocking Ukrainian ports for the export of agricultural products were held by UN representatives, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine in Istanbul.

Russia has proposed measures to ensure the transportation of food to foreign countries, including Russian partners, and to prevent the use of these logistic chains for supplying the Kiev regime with weapons and military equipment.

Online chronicles of reprisals against Russian media and journalists by Western countries and internet companies

For several years, we have been compelled to write regularly about the West’s efforts to suppress Russian and undesirable to the authorities Russian language media that were preventing the political elites of the “advanced democracies” from manipulating public opinion in their countries as they saw fit. The main enemies include Russian journalists, military correspondents, editors-in-chief and bloggers that provide not only a one-sided, Western interpretation of events but also alternative reports. The leaders of public opinion are in the same category.

In effect, the West wants to deprive its people once and for all of the opportunity to critically analyse the flow of news and replace it with monochrome propaganda coverage. In the process, they continue to talk about the intransient value of freedom of speech. This is not just the expression of model hypocrisy typical of the rhetoric from a neo-liberal political class. They are doing this under the obvious influence of self-hypnosis in their exclusiveness and permissiveness.

We do not see any point in arguing with these pseudo proponents of freedom of speech with their obvious signs of personality disorder. Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu has inspected the Eastern group of troops involved in the special military operation in Ukraine.

Group commander Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov informed Russian Defence Minister about the current situation and the progress on defeating enemy forces within his area of responsibility.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu noted the intensification of the attack capabilities of the group and directed the commander to prioritise the use of high-precision armament for eliminating the missile and artillery means of the enemy used for launching attacks at the residential areas of the settlements in Donbass, as well as intentional setting wheat fields and grain crops storages on fire.

High-precision weapons have hit positions of battalion of 81st Airmobile Brigade of AFU near Dolina, Donetsk People's Republic. More than 60 personnel have been destroyed, as well as 7 armoured vehicles and 1 ammunition depot.

London’s uncalled for focus on politicising and escalating the situation around British citizen Paul Urey, who died in the Donetsk People's Republic, has come to our attention. According to the information provided by the DPR authorities, he was in no way a civilian, but a career serviceman who had previously served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, and after that led military operations and trained military personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In April 2022, Paul Urey was detained by the DPR people's militia when trying to break through a checkpoint.

From the outset, we repeatedly indicated to the British that Paul Urey’s future should be discussed with the competent authorities in the DPR, which is a sovereign and independent state. However, London ignored the opportunity to hold talks in order to bring their man back as part of a prisoner exchange procedure.

Paul Urey had a number of chronic diseases, including insulin dependent diabetes. However, the UK did not bother to provide medical supplies for him through the ICRC. Nevertheless, the necessary medical assistance was provided to him by the Donetsk authorities.

As we now know from the DPR ombudsman, on July 10, Paul Urey succumbed to severe ailments and stress caused by captivity, and the British authorities’ unwillingness to tend to his needs.

Now London is trying to take advantage of this human tragedy to blow up a media scandal and to gain favour in the Conservative Party leadership election. The arguments provided by politicians like Elizabeth Truss with regard to non-recognition of the people's republics are nothing more than excuses showing how indifferent the British government is to the fate of its compatriots whom it is shamelessly using in its own interests.

Comments are unnecessary. As a reminder, despite Russia’s requests, the British failed to provide any information about a number of our fellow citizens dying in the UK and continue to provide shelter to dozens of Russians who had run-ins with the law at home.

The extreme unprofessionalism of the British Foreign Service is the problem. It has turned into a kind of travel agency specialising in tank riding tours and has forgotten the basics of diplomacy.

During the interviews Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio gave on July 15-17, including to the EU news portal Politico and Italian newspapers La Stampa and Il Messaggero, he said that the Russian leadership aimed to destabilise Italy and Europe and rejoiced at the news of the resignation of Mario Draghi’s government, and that the Russian ambassador as good as orchestrated the actions of certain political forces in Italy. Could you please comment on these statements?

We would be overwhelmed by the might of Russian diplomacy, if we were to believe Italian media reports. It has transpired that our ambassadors can change governments by making a few phone calls. Joking apart, we have to say that the head of the Italian foreign policy department is still trying to find external causes for Italy’s internal political problems. There is nothing new in that. Such methods have been used by representatives of other Western countries, when they wanted to divert the blame for their own flops away from themselves amid growing public discontent. This is exactly what is happening now on the energy and grain markets.

In this particular case, the name of Ambassador Sergey Razov was used to create a semblance of credibility. Unfortunately for them, he has left Italy for a planned vacation, which was scheduled for July, and the Foreign Ministry of Italy has been duly notified of that.

We would like to point out that, unlike the “truly democratic states” whose representatives often admit, openly and without batting an eyelash, to helping plan state coups in other countries, Russia has always been and remains committed to the principle of non-interference in the affairs of sovereign states, and its foreign missions strictly comply with the provisions of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the safety of nuclear facilities in Ukraine

Recently, increasing concern has been caused by the tense situation around Zaporozhye NPP, which has been escalated by the Ukrainian authorities, including by spreading misinformation about the alleged negative impact of Russia’s representatives at the plant on ensuring its safety.

We have repeatedly stressed that Russia has shown utmost responsibility with regard to Ukrainian nuclear facilities and done everything in its power to ensure not only an adequate level of nuclear and physical safety, but also the greatest possible transparency in this matter.

At the end of June 2022, together with the IAEA Secretariat we prepared a visit to Zaporozhye NPP of an international mission led by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, which was aimed at carrying out activities in the framework of implementing the IAEA safeguards as well as verifying compliance with safety standards at the NPP.

Extensive and complex preparatory work had been done to coordinate all details of the visit: the route of the mission, measures to ensure the delegation’s safety and the involvement of high-ranking foreign specialists.

Unfortunately, the visit did not take place due to the counterproductive position of the UN Secretariat's leadership, which refused to support the IAEA Secretariat's initiative under the far-fetched pretext of insufficient security and poor timing of the event.

Disrupting the visit played into the hands of the Kiev regime and its Western sponsors, who were not satisfied that the Director General, agency experts and international representatives included in the mission would have an opportunity to see the real situation at the Zaporozhye NPP and make sure it was functioning properly.

It was after the disruption of the visit that Kiev's armed provocations against the NPP increased manifold: drone strikes were carried out against the territory of the plant, as well as actions aimed at intimidating its personnel.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly reported on these incidents, distributing information circulars in the IAEA. Maria Zakharova:

This shows that the EU is completely unprepared to facilitate a political settlement in Ukraine. By providing the Ukrainians with weapons and military equipment, the EU continues to invest in continuing hostilities. At the same time, it is saying hypocritically that it offered an olive branch to Russia. Any attempts to achieve victory on the battlefield is a direct road into the abyss for both Kiev and Brussels.

The European Peace Foundation was established just over 12 months ago. As it delivers weapons, it would therefore be more correct to call it the War Foundation. Since its inception, the Foundation has already spent 2.5 billion euros on weapons for Ukraine. This accounts for almost 50 percent of its budget up to 2027. Consequently, the EU sponsors should assume the same responsibility as the Kiev regime for the war crimes committed by the armed forces of Ukraine and nationalist battalions for the murders of civilians, women, senior citizens and children and for the destruction of the civilian infrastructure, including bridges.

Some other glaring manifestations of double standards completely discredit the EU, which proclaims the primacy of the law as one of its pillars yet tends to grossly violate its own regulations on arms deliveries to third-party countries. These regulations are formalised in the EU Council’s Common Position 2008/944/CFSP December 8, 2008, defining common rules governing control of exports of military technology and equipment. Obviously, the Western paradigm of a rules-based international order implies that those who invent these rules do not necessarily have to comply with them. What is important for them is that everyone else follows them.

In the past five months, the West has been pumping weapons to Ukraine without respite, all the while trying to hush up the unpleasant fact that this policy spells unprecedented risks for the domestic security of the EU and its citizens. The West also overlooked rampant corruption among the authorities in Kiev. Everything was sacrificed to the ambitions of certain EU leaders and its member countries striving to inflict maximum possible damage on Russia.

Now the EU and its law enforcement agency, Europol, are forced to openly admit that the weapons supplied to Ukraine have started surfacing in European countries and replenishing the arsenals of local organised crime groups. In fact, we had insistently warned them about this at the time.

It is hardly surprising that on July 11, the EU launched its Support Hub for Internal Security and Border Management in Moldova.
