Your Russian source is reporting lots of dastardly Ukrainian activity around the Ukrainian Zaporozhye nuclear plant, which Russian forces are occupying.

Here's the latest IAEA press statement

Who to believe? The Russians who have been lost in their bucket of lies and propaganda for some time, or the IAEA, even when relying on Ukrainian sources?

Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine

31.08.2022 (12:45)

An attempt by the Zelensky regime to resume offensive operations in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog and other directions failed.

In the course of unsuccessful attacks on the settlements of Arkhangelskoye, Olgino and Ternovye Pody, the enemy suffered significant losses and was driven back by Russian troops. A battalion of the 57th motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was defeated in the area of the settlement of Sukhoi Stavok. Currently, the destruction of its remains is being completed.

To release the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 12 tanks (supplied to the Kyiv regime by Poland) were transported across the Ingulets River. Some of the tanks were destroyed by the powerful fire impact of the Russian troops. Several tanks in the course of a disorderly withdrawal were blown up in their minefield. Only five Ukrainian tanks were able to break back deep into the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For two days of unsuccessful attacks on the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog and other directions, Ukrainian troops lost four combat aircraft: two Su-25s, one Su-24 and one MiG-29. Three Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters were shot down in the air. Russian troops destroyed 63 Ukrainian tanks, 59 infantry fighting vehicles, 48 other armored fighting vehicles, 14 pickup trucks with heavy machine guns and more than 1,700 Ukrainian servicemen.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.

Up to 50 nationalists and nine units of military equipment were eliminated by the strikes of high-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces at the point of temporary deployment of units of the 10th mountain assault brigade in the area of the settlement of Druzhkovka (Donetsk People's Republic). A concentrated fire strike on the command post and ammunition depot of the 56th motorized infantry brigade in the area of the village of Karlovka (Donetsk People's Republic) destroyed more than 40 Ukrainian servicemen and 12 units of special vehicles.

Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile forces and artillery continue to strike at military facilities on the territory of Ukraine. During the day, ten command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were hit in the areas of the settlements of Pervomaiskoye, Dobryanka, Belousovo, Lozovoe, Novovorontsovka (Kherson region), Zelenodolsk (Dnipropetrovsk region), Artyomovsk, Soledar, Zaitsevo and Maryinka (Donetsk People's Republic), as well as 65 artillery units, manpower and Ukrainian military equipment in 153 places.

Three depots of rocket and artillery weapons were destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Ukrainka (Kharkiv region), Cherkasskoye and Ivano-Daryevka (Donetsk People's Republic), as well as the launcher of the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system near the settlement of Dobrovolye (Dnipropetrovsk region).

Russian air defense systems shot down seven unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Chaplynka (Kherson region), Novoukrainka (Zaporozhye region), Borshovka, Pervomayskoe, Kapitolovka, Izyum and Krasnoe (Kharkiv region).

In addition, 57 shells of HIMARS, "Olkha" and "Uragan" multiple launch rocket systems were intercepted in the areas of the settlements of Velikie Kopani, Berislav (Kherson region), Antonovsky bridge and Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.

* * *

During August 30, the Kyiv regime continued provocations aimed at disrupting the work of the IAEA mission and creating a threat of a man-made disaster at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

During the shelling of the territory of the nuclear power plant by Ukrainian artillery, one shell hit the building of the solid radioactive waste processing complex. The shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was carried out from the firing position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Nikopol area on the opposite bank of the Kakhovka reservoir.

Statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the threats of shelling of schools by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

31.08.2022 (18:07)

The Kyiv regime continues deliberate shelling of socially significant objects in the Donetsk, Luhansk people's republics and in other areas liberated from nationalists during a special military operation. Schools, hospitals, kindergartens and residential buildings are being hit.

The long-range strike weapons supplied by the United States and European countries have significantly expanded the Kyiv regime's ability to deliver criminal strikes against residential infrastructure and educational institutions with Western-made artillery and rocket weapons.

Such actions are a war crime and require the entire international community to take urgent action to prevent the Kyiv regime from shelling schools and killing children.

On the eve of the start of the new academic year, we inform you that in the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, as well as in the Zaporozhye, Kherson and Kharkiv regions, 1,422 schools for 326,438 students will open their doors on September 1, 2022.

The Russian side is implementing a set of all necessary measures to protect these educational institutions from any threats.

At the same time, in order to unconditionally ensure the safety of students and teachers, the Russian Ministry of Defense published and sent to the UN, international humanitarian organizations, as well as the leadership of Ukraine, the addresses and exact location data of all schools starting work on September 1, 2022 in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as in Zaporozhye, Kherson and Kharkov regions.

We demand that the United Nations and the entire international community take effective measures to prevent the shelling of schools by the Kyiv regime and guarantee the exclusion of these facilities and the territories adjacent to them from being hit by fire weapons of the armed forces and other paramilitary formations of Ukraine.

Statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense on the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

01.09.2022 (10:30)

On September 1, the Kyiv regime attempted a major provocation to disrupt the arrival of the IAEA working group at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Ukrainian artillery is shelling the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and the meeting place of the IAEA mission with Russian specialists in the area of the village of Vasilyevka. Four shells exploded at a distance of 400 meters from the first power unit of the Zaporozhye NPP.

In addition, at 6:20 Moscow time, on the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir, three kilometers northeast of the Zaporozhye NPP, the Kyiv regime landed two sabotage groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a total number of up to 60 people on seven high-speed motor boats.

The saboteurs were blocked by units of the Russian Guard, which were guarding the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, and units of the Russian Armed Forces approached them to reinforce them.

Currently, the destruction of the sabotage group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is underway with the involvement of army aviation helicopters.

At about 7:00 Moscow time, units of the Russian armed forces thwarted an attempt to land a tactical assault force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on two self-propelled barges that left Nikopol a few kilometers from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in the area of the village of Vodiane.

As a result of the fire damage of the Russian Armed Forces, two self-propelled barges with tactical landing forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were sunk.

Yesterday, on August 31, the armed forces of Ukraine attacked the territory of the nuclear power plant with three kamikaze drones. All unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralized by Russian electronic warfare systems on approach to the station. Two of them fell on the roof of the training center. There are no casualties or destruction.

Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine

01.09.2022 (14:35)

On the morning of September 1, the Kiev regime attempted a major provocation to disrupt the arrival of IAEA expert working group at Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

At 6:20 a.m., seven fast-moving motorboats landed on the coast of Kakhovskoye reservoir, three kilometres northeast of Zaporozhye NPP, with two sabotage groups of up to 60 people in total.

The sabotage groups were detected and blocked in the drop-off area by Russian National Guard units guarding the territory of Zaporozhye NPP.

A unit of the Russian Armed Forces and helicopters of the army aviation were transfered to reinforce Russian Guard troops in order to suppress an attempt to enter the nuclear power plant and destroy Ukrainian saboteurs.

The destruction of the Ukrainian sabotage group is currently being completed.

At about 7am, units of the Russian Armed Forces prevented another attempted landing to seize a nuclear power plant.

A few kilometres from Zaporozhye NPP near Vodyanoye, an attempt was made to land a tactical airborne assault by AFU two self-propelled barges from Nikopol.

Two self-propelled barges carrying tactical airborne assault of AFU are sunk as a result of the Russian Armed Forces' shelling.

As of 8am, the Kiev regime has blocked the passage of IAEA expert mission from controlled territory to Zaporozhye NPP.

Ukrainian artillery is shelling the territory of Zaporozhye NPP, the meeting place of IAEA mission with Russian specialists near Vasil'evka, as well as the route of their movement to Energodar.

Four shells exploded 400 metres from the 1st unit of Zaporozhye NPP.

Despite attempts by the Kiev regime to disrupt the visit of IAEA expert group to Zaporozhye NPP, the Russian side confirms its readiness to receive them with full security of further operations.

The situation around the nuclear power plant is difficult but remains under full control.

The Kiev regime continued unsuccessful offensive attempts on Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction.

Statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense

01.09.2022 (17:50)

The military operations of Ukrainian sabotage groups with artillery shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which began on the day of the arrival of IAEA experts, leave no doubt that the regime of Volodymyr Zelensky was preparing this military provocation in advance.

It was with the completion of the preparations for the operation to seize the Zaporizhzhya NPP by Ukrainian saboteurs on the day of the arrival of IAEA experts that the cancellation of the visit of Rafael Grossi to the station on August 31 was due, instead of which his “unscheduled” meeting with Vladimir Zelensky took place.

Obviously, if the Kyiv regime’s operation to seize the plant was successful, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, and the mission’s experts would become a “human shield” for Ukrainian saboteurs to prevent any actions to destroy them by units of the Russian armed forces.

The role of the IAEA mission in this case would be reduced to fixing a new status quo: "Zaporozhye NPP came under the complete control of Kyiv", with a new wave of loud statements from Washington and European capitals calling on Russia to provide a "demilitarized zone" around the NPP, where observers should remain IAEA under the protection of the Ukrainian military.

This provocation was thwarted by the effective actions of the units of the Russian armed forces and the National Guard. At present, the IAEA mission headed by Rafael Grossi has arrived at the nuclear power plant and has begun scheduled work with the Russian side fully ensuring its safety. The position of Rafael Grossi and his team, who nevertheless left for the plant, despite the provocations of Kyiv and the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, deserves respect.

In this regard, we completely understand the deathly silence of all Western sponsors of Volodymyr Zelensky's regime, which actually confirms their tacit participation in the preparation of today's provocation at the Zaporozhye NPP.

At the same time, the absence of a public reaction to the actions of Kyiv in the area of the Zaporozhye NPP from the side of the UN Secretary General António Guterres in Vienna causes reasonable bewilderment.

Such silence not only casts a shadow and casts doubt on the objectivity of the UN approaches in the situation around the Zaporizhzhya NPP, but also leads to a further increase in the escalation of the situation there, with complete impunity for the Kyiv regime.

Briefing by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Moscow, August 31, 2022

31 August 2022 14:00

..........
Question:

As Ukraine marked its Independence Day, US President Joe Biden said he would allocate $3 billion in military aid to that country, Washington’s largest military aid package so far. It is intended for training Ukrainian troops and supplying weapons to the country for years to come. US officials said that since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine was going on, US security assistance would be long-term with possibly more US troops to be deployed in Europe. Why did the United Sates take this decision now? What in your view is the objective of the so-called long-term defence and the deployment of troops in Europe?

Maria Zakharova:

There are quite a few reasons for this and they have nothing to do with the situation around Ukraine. Quite the opposite, the situation with Ukraine is an extension of Washington’s logic, that is, cause and effect have been reversed. The situation in Ukraine cannot serve to explain the buildup of US military presence in Europe. Based on its earlier developed strategy to increase its military presence, Washington is causing the Ukrainian crisis to spread, intensify and worsen in order to feel free to supply weapons to the Kiev regime and build up its presence in Europe. Washington carefully devised and implemented these tactics long ago. Clearly, Americans needed the situation with Ukraine to set this process in motion. We have commented on this issue on more than one occasion and at various levels. In the case of Ukraine, any weapon supplies tend to increase the risk of a deterioration of the international situation and make conditions even harder for civilians. Civilians are being exposed to attacks by Ukraine – I mean the part controlled by the Kiev regime.

As for the deployment of US troops and the expansion of US military infrastructure in Europe, this is largely the result of NATO expansion, which has only moved in one direction, closer to the Russian border. This situation did not evolve yesterday and it is the result of activities that have been planned in advance. Russia has repeatedly voiced its concerns and, again, this did not start yesterday or a year ago, or five years ago, while Russia proposed all types of cooperation to address shared problems. The United States and NATO were guided by the same – allegedly shared – security considerations as they expanded their military bases, moving them toward the Russian border. We have received negative answers to all our proposals, including practical ones, for jointly addressing security issues. This did not just happen once – in late 2021 or early 2022. Our proposals were repeatedly turned down over many years. Our concerns were ignored.

All those years the West was strengthening its security at the expense of others, ignoring the legitimate concerns of Russia and other countries. The situation is only worsening. They are not getting added security. All that’s happening is the deterioration of security situation in several areas.

Statement by spokesman of Russian Defence Ministry Lieutenant General I.Konashenkov

04.09.2022 (16:15)

While Kiev regime and its western sponsors were preparing an operation aimed at capturing Zaporozhye nuclear power plant on September 1, the international community had to be informed about the establishment of Kiev's control over the plant by specially selected and prepared 'mass media representatives' from Ukraine, USA and United Kingdom in presence of the mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

With this purpose, as it was confirmed on September 2 in the public statement by V.Zelensky, Kiev regime added motor cars with Ukrainian and western journalists on board to the convoy of IAEA without prior arrangement.

The attempt to carry out this provocation was made by Kiev in disregard of mission's working scenario documentally predetermined by IAEA Secretariat and UN Department for Safety and Security.

According to thoroughly studied and agreed documents, the access to Russian-controlled territory of Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was to be provided only pursuant to the lists previously presented by Russian Defence Ministry to UN Department for Safery and Security.

There are no representatives of Ukrainian or other mass media tasked to accompany IAEA's convoy on September 1 from Kiev-controlled territory to Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in the agreed lists.

Considering this fact, in order to implement the security protocol for mission's work, all unauthorised persons were stopped and did not receive access at their attempts to cross the delimitation line with IAEA's convoy.

At the same time, on request of IAEA Secretariat, Russian party provided the arrival of over 60 representatives of mass media, including from France, USA, China, Denmark, Japan, Germany, Turkey, Qatar, UAE, South Korea, Vietnam and other countries to cover the mission's work.

In the morning on September 1, the journalists that arrived in Energodar happened to witness the unsuccessful attempt to assault Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by Ukrainian saboteurs and experienced personally an artillery shelling launched by AFU at the nuclear power plant and residential areas of Energodar while hiding in a bomb shelter.

Foreign Ministry statement on Russia’s response to the European Union’s decisions on sanctions

7 September 2022 13:44

Seeking to contain our country in its development and to punish its people for supporting an independent foreign policy, the European Union has been carrying on with its policy of imposing unilateral sanctions. Illegitimate in terms of international law, these actions go hand in hand with unprecedented anti-Russia rhetoric.

At the same time, the EU and some of its member states are supplying lethal weapons and military equipment to the Kiev regime, used for shelling civilian and critical infrastructure, further worsening the humanitarian situation in the conflict zone and putting the entire European continent at risk. This demonstrates that the EU is not willing to invest in achieving peace in Ukraine and Europe and remains committed to making the conflict last. People in the EU have to pay the costs of this belligerent posture out of their pockets.

In response to new restrictive measures against Russian individuals and legal entities, we expanded the list of individuals representing the EU institutions and its member countries who are banned from entering the territory of our country as per Federal Law No. 114-FZ dated August 15, 1996 “On the procedure of exit from and entry to the Russian Federation.” The Foreign Ministry has transferred a verbal note to this effect to the EU’s delegation in Russia.

In particular, these restrictions now apply to the EU’s senior military officers and high-ranking officials from law enforcement agencies of EU member states, as well as representatives of European manufacturers of arms and military equipment who are involved in delivering military products to Ukraine.

We would like to remind those who initiated measures against Russia that we remain steadfast in our determination to respond with unwavering resolve to any unfriendly acts targeted against Russia.

Statement by the Head of the delegation of the Russian Federation at the Consultative meeting of the States Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons (BTWC) under BTWC Article V

8 September 2022 18:44

..........
The Consultative meeting was convened on the request of the Russian Federation in connection with its legitimate questions to the United States and Ukraine concerning the fulfillment of their respective obligations under the Convention in the context of the operation of biological laboratories on the Ukrainian territory.

For a long time, the Russian Federation has openly expressed its complaints and concerns regarding the military biological activities of the United States and its allies outside their national territories, including in laboratories in the territories of the former Soviet Union Republics in the vicinity of Russian borders, with direct assistance and participation of military agencies and affiliated organizations. Such activities pose a direct threat to the biological security of the Russian Federation.

In the last ten years, through the statements and comments of the MFA of Russia we have regularly drawn attention to the military biological activities of the Unites States and its allies in the post-Soviet space, regarding the so-called reports of the US Department of State on the fulfillment of and compliance with the agreements and obligations in the field of arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation. In recent years, this issue has been increasingly mentioned in our statements at the BTWC forum, as well as at various relevant international conferences and seminars.

In the US reports submitted annually within the framework of the BTWC confidence building measures that were developed by the States Parties "in order to prevent or reduce the occurrence of ambiguities, doubts and suspicions" there is no information on the programs and projects implemented outside the national territories or their funding. Ukraine's reports contain no relevant information on its cooperation with the United States. Our multiple calls to Washington to provide exhaustive clarifications regarding these activities have been left without any satisfactory answers of substance.

In the course of the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Federation has obtained a number of documents and evidence that shed light on the true nature of the interaction of the Pentagon and its contractors with Ukraine in the military biological sphere. The analysis of these materials testifies to the non-compliance by the United States and Ukraine with the BTWC provisions.
