Yes. I do remember your method. At the time, I was overloaded with day-to-day requirements and couldn't spare the time to do it properly. Then, it got lost in the volume of information.

Well the actual securities are chosen by my trusted ML guy. I understand completely the risk of a global meltdown where those funds become unavailable, but I'm not quite ready to bury bullion out in the back yard.

imo, part of the dilemma is that having funds "in the system", and totally clean, but not in dollars, is balanced against having cash or equivalent in your hand that could be a liability if changes are made to the financial system, where you need to prove where it came from, etc.

Just as much I am totally open to ideas and input on the matter. Starting with a bit of telecom stock half a lifetime ago, it now takes professional management for my portfolio. There's really no way for me to keep it all on-hand.
