The Biden Administration Will Recognize the Taliban as Afghanistan's Legitimate Government.

The US force projection was holding that country together and when it was removed it fell apart. It would have fallen apart under Biden, it would have fallen apart under Trump, without the US forcing that government on the people of Afghanistan it would collapse, yesterday, today, tomorrow.

The religious theocracy of the Taliban was the majority of the Afghani's chosen government. The one they chose when the soviets pulled out and the one they have chosen now and would choose anytime the US would have pulled out.

And all the candy in the world didn't really win us any hearts and minds; in Afghanistan or Viet nam.

Nothing else was necessary to ensure a rapid taliban victory.

China—not the U.S.—got approval from the former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, to mine those deposits. Funny, one of the FIRST things the Taliban said was that they’d honor those contracts.
