I used to be upset at people insulting you and calling you names, because I respect a priori anyone who has questions and give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

That being said, I think I'm starting to see the problem with your alarmistic posts. You're not really sharing stuff that you find discussion-worthy, are you.

Now, to play devil's advocate (that is, Dr. Smith's advocate): one can argue, scientifically, that when I try to artificially respond to a threat that by nature evolves and mutates, I may tamper with my existing response mechanisms in such a way that they may be unable to adapt to the threat itself, once it mutates. Is such a risk it warranted? Only if the threat is so deadly that my defenses would have no way to adapt to begin with - which may well be the case here, some may argue.

My concern is that XXIst century man tampering with DNA is like a caveman trying to fix a chip on a smartphone, imho.

That has all along been the question that I have been asking!! Of all of the viruses that we have had in the last 50 years this is the only one I can remember where the pressure was and is so heavy to get a shot.
I am old enough to remember the polio outbreaks in the 50's, I think, and as a school child I lined up and ate a sugar cube with he vaccine soaked into it. That was a very real scare and everyone saw the benefit of being vaccinated. With this one there is just too many unknowns about the vaccine to push it this hard on the public.
It seems as though there is another agenda with this vaccine and until I know more I will wait for the shot!!

Honestly, if they had come out and said that as a matter of national security everyone would be mandated to be vaccinated or be subject to house arrest, I'd have actually thought this may have been a serious vaccine. Take the mask mandates, for example. When I saw people being wrestled to the ground by cops for not wearing a mask, as much as I was outraged I thought to myself - there's something serious going on, whatever it is.

However, listening to funny jingles on the radio and seeing cute ads about giving it our best shot at hugs, without any serious push, just makes me feel like this isn't as serious a way out of the pandemic as they want it to appear.

I took the vaccine. But if I did not take it I was dead if I got covid.

I have so many health problems that covid would have killed me. Also, I am 70 years old.

So I am dead either way, but I will be lucky if I survive till 75 anyway.

If taking the vaccine gives me another year it will be worth it.

Although I do not believe that vaccine takers will all be dead, I think the more likely outcome is the ineffectiveness of vaccines long term.

The virus is still evolving faster than the vaccines and people will continue to die from it.

They wouldn't have made the vaccines without an Antedote
