It could be worse than that. It could be a country-wide contagion. How many of these people were elected due to fraud? What laws were enacted? Who was indoctrinated into the Senior Executive Service during their tenure? What damage did they do? And here is where it gets really dicey; who was selected to be judges and where? What laws were enforced? Was it done legally? Who would be entitled to a "get out of jail free" card? And how far would that spread?

Yes, it’s a nightmare scenario.

That’s why I’m not huffing too much hopium regarding the audits. I don’t think they will result in a “do over” or a reversal of declared winner. There is no clearly established legal procedure for that to happen.

At best, if a widespread conspiracy can be proven, the current admin could be declared a criminal enterprise or a foreign interloper and be removed by a kind of legal military coup. There would have to be justification for immediate military action instead of an impeachment.

Perhaps the admin’s actions would even be required to stand as the result of an official admin, but one subsequently proven to be criminal. We would hope that if the corruption could be revealed to an undeniable degree, both parties would be obligated to systematically and legally change back what can be undone by the normal powers of the new administration.

The races other than President might have to stand. There probably wasn’t as much fraud there, and those candidates were less likely to be personally involved. Future votes could address those positions.

For a travesty that has reached this point there is no way forward that will not involve some trauma. Not everything will be fixable. As the saying goes, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” It’s shameful that we do not have ironclad election security. Well, maybe “ironclad” has never been possible, but it sure could have been better.

I don’t understand blockchain, but people seem to think it could provide the basis of a much more secure vote. I think that was one of the things DJT wanted to be his legacy. But maybe we have to think in terms of inertia. For a big change in direction to occur, a big force has to be applied. Revealing the massive level of corruption involved in a fraudulent Presidential election may just be the necessary big force for a big change.
