I hear you, I just don't see choice being removed. But I feel you on how the 1% have autonomy..always been the way. I don't really buy heavily in the Dr Evil persona, I dunno, maybe I just don't want to know..another thing I can do nothing about!

I started the discussion and therefore do indeed know what's being discussed, thank you.

All these people are fine feeding poor people ground bug paste but not eating it themselves. There is a word somewhere for that...

Yeah, but you are against them being given bugs while you eat whatever you want.

That same word applies to what you are doing.

Eating bugs seems better than -

The first astronauts to the distant planets and moons will be eating reconstituted poop:
Japanese Scientists Create Meat From Poop

and drinking their collected urine and sweat after processing.

Astronauts Drink Urine and Other Waste Water

I'm sharing organic healthy food from my garden with my neighbors (last year I only had a few items I could share, but my goal is to up my production and growing space every year).

What are you doing?

Your neighbors are not people starving in underdeveloped countries.

That was the topic of the links you placed in the OP.

We need to get over the eww gross factor! There is alot of food out there that we just waste for cultural reasons. There are just too many people to feed and some starve because of "eww that's wrong". I however don't think Bill Gates can feed the world however, there just isn't enough meat on his bones. Some rich people might like having some Bill with buffalo sauce, fava beans and a nice chianti.

Anyone who goes down that "eww gross" rabbit hole should be made to see the bottom before they jump.

The same as you, in regards to the topic you chose to mention in the OP.

The topic of the OP was only partly about the bugs. It was more about Gates and Branson's plans for the future of all of our diets. Even the first sentence says as much, and the sources are about the future of food.

You saying you would rather die?

(...darwin perks up)

And you saying you think I'm stupid and that the world would be better off w/o me?

Lol, reason 1/100,000 why I am no longer a democrat. The party of love and unity anything but. So I write an opinion piece blasting Bill Gates and you think this is a reasonable response?

Sad.

So you're also pretty sure the best that can be managed for poor people is unappetizing bug paste? Heck, I bet the whole bugs are more appetizing.

Sure, the hyperbolic argument about the future.

But you backed it up with links about using bugs as a source of protein to feed people starving in poor countries.

Bug powder is very nutritious. Toads and frogs love em and so should you.

From ENTOMARKET

Prebiotic Cricket Powder
Cricket Powder is added to all sorts of dishes without any icky taste detected. Cricket powder has a mild taste, so when it’s added as an ingredient, it’s taste may be unnoticeable. When you do taste cricket powder, it’s an earthy umami flavor that few people dislike.

Cricket Powder Nutrition:

60% protein by volume
26 mcg B12/ 100 grams (Beef has 1-2mcg/100grams)
High in Antioxidants
High in iron and calcium
Low in bad fats
All 9 essential amino acids
Omega 6:3 ratio of 3:1

Scorpion Powder
Our organic scorpion powder has 78% protein, (7.8 grams per 10g). Made from 100% organic scorpions that have been farmed for human consumption. Contains no additives or fillers. 1 year shelf life. Excellent source of protein, amino acids B12, calcium, iron and other vitamins and minerals.

Bee Drone Powder
Our drone pupae powder is high in protein and has a vitamin A content higher than that of beef and eggs, and a vitamin D content 10 times than that cod liver oil. Made from 100% organic drones that have been farmed for human consumption. Contains no additives or fillers. 1 year shelf life.

You know the Scorpion powder sounded tempting but again, look at the price of these products.

They work out to $30 an ounce.

These are delicacies. They are not a solution to world hunger.

There is more than enough food to go around. Outside of actual cases of famine most starvation is caused by high prices, which is thanks in no small part to the western corporate class, which old Bill is a part of.

The majority of problems plaguing the world can be traced back to the western corporate class in one way or another. Truly depraved collection of folks.

First off, I doubt either of us know what this powder tastes like.

Second who knows what can be done with it.

And other products are in the pipeline but I'm pretty sure if someone is hungry right now, that bug paste is better than nothing.
