Excellent news! Do you know if anyone has ever said how much time they will need after counting before issuing report.

All I've heard is the original projections, which expected the counting to be done by May 14, and the final report issued by June 1.

So about two weeks after the audit is completed? If that still applies...

Wait, you don't remember the right rioting, burning and looting across America over that, or when they did the same thing when Obama and recently Biden won? Well neither do I....

I remember laughing a lot... I remember lots of funny people making lots of funny jokes... I remember most people thinking it all being rather ridiculous...

This is a very different world today!

It is. I’m 74.

I grew up in an all white Christian neighborhood in a Los Angeles suburb — which you could do before Fair Housing. Even single white women had trouble buying a home without a male co-signer.

My mom was a polio victim of the 51 epidemic — the disability act wasn’t signed until 22 years later. People are not kind. Equal Rights for the disabled had to be forced.

So, yeah, I’ve seen/lived a few things.

I go to both Dem & Rep meetings in my town. I personally do not like the Right Wingers I’ve met. They remind me of self righteous cloned robots.

The Dems are diverse, personable, and welcoming.

While I am glad you found people that welcomed you that has been pretty much the exact opposite from my life experiences..

I have met people classified as right wingers that all held different political beliefs some for abortion some against as an example.

Democrats seems to be group think of the highest order, and this is a relatively new development (clinton era I remember democrats that were socially liberal, and fiscally conservative... no blue dog democrats left beyond 1 or 2) , just look at the smear tactics to try and get old boy from WV to vote for the voting bill.

Funny... I grew up in an LA-suburb too but it obviously wasn't the same one! I almost always refuse to even refer to LA, because we were LA's red-headed stepchild so to speak... then it became gentrified on steroids... and now it's back to where the "debris meets the sea." LOL! It breaks my heart to see it, although my family has told me for a few years now that I'd cry if I saw what has happened to it.

But we were far from a "White" community. I went to school with rich kids and dirt poor kids and everything in between, of every race and religion, and it was wonderful. In hindsight, almost magical. In comparison to today's world, definitely magical! (And boy-oh-boy did I get to enjoy some wonderful foods from all kinds of cultures!!!)

I do know what you mean about too many Republicans. But I don't find them much different than too many Democrats. I don't involve myself with either one. My activism has long been confined to general community interests -- neither left nor right. And I'm happy to keep it that way.
edit on 6-6-2021 by Boadicea because: spelling -- "not" to "now"

What years? I’m talking 50s.

The Fair Housing Act was signed 1959. A lot of adults had a lot to say about it.

We had a few Mexicans, but they lived on the other side of the tracks (literally) on a dirt road in an area called “Little Tijuana”.

I grew up not far from LAX. My dad used to take us jackrabbit hunting in Fox Hills.

I do not see Democrats as a group think at all.

Other than they want everyone treated equally.

I was a Rep for 40+ years. They very much have a superior attitude — and every man for himself.

You would think — being the most evolved mammal in the planet — we’d have evolved beyond survival of the fittest.

I’m actually a little bit of both.

You were a little before me -- I'm talking 60s and 70s.

My dad used to take us to Fox Hills and sometimes Baldwin Hills to shoot skip. Then they built the darn mall and all that changed. I didn't know there were jackrabbits to hunt up there! For that stuff we went to the Boy Scout camps in SaMo mountains -- Josepho and Slauson.

The Fair Housing Act was right before I was born. Perhaps because of this, I don't know, but I don't recall any segregation between Hispanics and Whites. I knew many mixed families of all races and combos. There was one area with a high concentration of Blacks, but that was "the projects," so not technically segregation. Because my parents were always active in Scouting and PTA, we socialized with everyone. It may have been "a thing," and I just didn't see it. But I'm more inclined to think we just didn't have it on the same scale.

The only segregation I saw was self-segregation in gangs. And they even fought among themselves as well. Mexican gangs fought other Mexican gangs... Black gangs fought other Black gangs... White gangs just beat up the surfer gangs. And most of that was probably more about selling drugs than anything else. We did have our annual riot when our football team played Crenshaw High though...

My parents didn't get the memo -- LOL!

Seriously, I don't want to derail the thread and bore our other posters. I'm sure one of these days we'll find another thread to re-visit and continue the topic!

I found the title of this article laughable, but since it was on Yahoo, for some reason the whole article wouldn't load for me. Perhaps others will have better luck:

Secretary of State Hobbs on AZ audit: “This could lead to another January 6th-style insurrection.”

I wonder is she means it will be another insurrection only in name and dubbed so by only the Left? Or an insurrection that nobody brought any guns to? It's hard to say, because, for me, the article doesn't get that far before it stops dead and doesn't continue like a couple others I just read on Yahoo did.

I agree.

However — the derail did not start with me.

You HAVE got Alzheimer's Disease! I'm truly sorry for you. Read the third comment on this page, it's by you, and it is the start of the "derailing." Don't attempt to deny it. Everybody can read. Most of us can comprehend as well.
