I know I cant afford to have my mobile connected to the internet all day long
and I only use my phone to listen to music and take the odd graffiti picture or of my dugs

the world is gone surveillance daft
but its cool we all have masks on

Hey , wait the now , is this like some alternate thing , where someone has set this in motion to benefit us
to allow us to wear masks in public so we can riot and reset the world ?

Don’t worry once the economy dies expect social reforms, including free internet for everyone on welfare.

Along with various other social policies which appear to help the poor, unfortunately that’s the whole idea, strip our personal wealth and place the control into the hands of government.

Left wing rhetoric sounds great in principle, the only equality it actually brings about is that everyone is equally poor.

aye but , its not a left wing government that's in power in the UK though is it , if ye hadnt noticed that most of the social reforms that were implemented to help the disabled and give people benefits have been drastically slashed to smithereens by the tories in the last decade
so why would they go about giving us all free internet

hey thats pretty interesting

trump signed the CARES act on the 27th march 2020 but the bill was submitted to congress on the 29/01/2019
the act was written before the virus was introduced to the world

corona virus bill tabled before virus announcement

but someone said this

H.R. 748 was the "Middle Class Health Benefits Tax Repeal Act of 2019" until the Senate amendment of March 20, 2020 at which point it became the CARES Act

is this true then it doesnt look as shady

I see sappy beat me to it but we've had a Conservative government since 2010.
They've 'saved' over £6.2billion through their austerity cuts - which war nothing more than punitive targeting of the most needy and vulnerable in our society - which didn't benefit one single ordinary, everyday working British person one little bit.

Who did benefit?
The usual cabal of bankers, industrialists and others in the financial markets.....and their backers of course.
You know, the people who fund The Tory Party.

Boris Johnson was a passionate supporter of austerity.

I don't see how #ing the economy up will help any of them and I really can't see Boris doing anything 'to help the poor' and he'll be committing political suicide if he attempts to 'strip our personal wealth'.

'Place the control' of what 'into the hands of the government'?
The government are already in control....allegedly.

As for 'left wing rhetoric'.
All party rhetoric is bollocks in my opinion.
The concept of blind allegiance to anything is beyond me.

But who can deny the benefits and great strides forward of the 'leftist' policies implemented immediately post-WWII?
And those foundations formed the platform for the boom years that follwed.

But yes, everything 'leftist' is evil and bad.

The party political system has outlived its fit for purpose.
We need to set aside party politics, form a national government and concentrate on dealing with this pandemic and its effects free from the restraints of political dogma.

I understand your thinking unfortunately in my opinion partisan politics is an illusion of choice. Really we are governed under a corporatocracy due to the consolidation and monopolisation of industry and commerce. The agenda which drives those forces is now geared toward sustainability and a digital revolution under the banner of pseudo socialism. It increases their control over the general population while duping them into ideology which is counter productive to the masses. Where you see chaos and incompetence I see manipulation toward a global authoritarian system.

The proof is in the pudding, increased limitation on Liberty is apparent and the driving mechanisms although shrouded in secrecy are blatantly obvious if you disregard the billion dollar propaganda machine.

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind.“ Edward L. Bernays

If they are so clever and so powerful why haven't they managed to achieve their aims yet despite having goodness knows how many years of power and control?

If they already yield such power what more do they want?
How will this 'limitation of liberties' further their cause?
How will 'they' practically benefit from it bearing in mind 'they' have the power to control and manipualte governments around the globe, dictate content to MSM outlets and generally oversee every aspect of our lives now?
What extra powers do they need?

According to people like yourself who believe this 'they' already have untold power and influence, why do 'they' want more and to what end?

Taking away our once every four years right to tick a box or our right to slag our respective governments off - who according to this theory are only a facade anyway - in the pub after 4 or 5 pints achieves exactly what?

Is it just malice that is driving this New World Order or something more real and tangible?

What is the end game.....and why?

As I've said before; I used to sort of subscribe to that belief.
Now I'm rather dubious.

I don't think 'they' are clever enough and certainly not as joined up and united to organise and coordinate such a complex masterplan.

I think 'they' just want to maintain the status quo, continue with the illusion that our democracy's provide people with a real say on the things that affect them whilst maintaining the current system that 'they' exploit to the full and get 'their' fill whilst throwing 'us' the odd scrap here and there.

|I think "they" simply want to protect their own interests in a world that is increasingly chaotic and over which they have absolutely no control whatsoever .....

Unless, of course, by "they" you mean Mother Nature. Who currently appears to hold all the Aces (and the Kings, Queens and Jacks)

we adopt most things in culture from America now and have been doing that for the past 50 years , its no wonder there is a general fear of leftist , socialist ideals
because america spent the best part of 50 years telling is socialism is bad because it leads to communism
we have been collectively brainwashed into thinking socialism is the slippery slope

and so millions have been convinced the only way is the right way and to become more authoritarian and spend less on public funds and develop more private businesses and strengthen the economy through privitisation and competition
but all thats done is forced ourselves into the corporate power ladder for domination and we are slowly watching monopolies emerge

soon the corporate powers will weild so much power that governments cant do anything to stop them.

i mean look at amazon , jeff bezos has so much money he could pay off the national debt of any country he wants to buy , we are quickly heasded for a cyberpunk future of High tech - low life

I think you underestimate the intelligence of our puppet masters. Don’t be fooled by their PR stooges.

I suggest you have a read of Propaganda by Edward Bernays and Public Opinion by Walter Lippmann.

Combine these ideas with data based engineering of social psychology and the revolution of data gathering by sites such as Facebook, you have the perfect platform to manipulate the masses however you see fit.

This is highly irrelevant but to a non-thinker it seems valid.

1 - sheltering from bombs was not enforced by government nor were non shelterers snitched on. Sheltering brought people together.

2 - bombs are indiscriminate, there are no statistics that prove bombs are only fatal to those above 65 or those with existing illnesses.

3 - propaganda was not used to enforce the idea of sheltering, the act was proportionate to the risk, so people were happy to do so.

What's interesting about this one is that it uses a typical propaganda motif - the girl with plaited pigtails. So much was this used in propaganda in fact that even Greta Thunberg was labelled as a propaganda tool for this very reason.

It also makes two appeals - appeal to protect the elderly and appeal to the youngers by using taboo language.

It really is another piece of textbook propaganda.

And of course the obvious question is not asked: "Why does the whole world have to stop to protect the elders, when it is more logical for the world to continue and the elders to be protected?"

This is the problem with banding around "memes". They appeal to the non-thinkers and only scratch the surface of complicated issues. But the modern day TL;DR generation think they solve all the world problems.

I dinnae ken where you are from mate but fanny is definitely no a taboo word in Scotland likes
# is a term of endearment up here
so fanny is like a word that school children learn and its not considered by most of people in Scotland as a taboo word
anyway who wouldnt protect their granny , i think its a nice message , not propaganda at all

as for the tldr gen z comment , they arent all useless egotistical idiots , some of them actually have enough intelligence to think critically , the rest are just happy living in their ego bubbles consuming and updating their digital selves on social media , just as the previous generation ,there are those happy in their me bubbles , who work and consume and watch tv and go about their business without ever batting an eyelid at serious issues because it doesnt affect them directly in any real visible way.
