I see
sappy beat me to it but we've had a Conservative government since 2010.
They've 'saved' over £6.2billion through their austerity cuts - which war nothing more than punitive targeting of the most needy and vulnerable in
our society - which didn't benefit one single ordinary, everyday working British person one little bit.
Who did benefit?
The usual cabal of bankers, industrialists and others in the financial markets.....and their backers of course.
You know, the people who fund The Tory Party.
Boris Johnson was a passionate supporter of austerity.
I don't see how #ing the economy up will help any of them and I really can't see Boris doing anything 'to help the poor' and he'll be committing
political suicide if he attempts to 'strip our personal wealth'.
'Place the control' of what 'into the hands of the government'?
The government are already in control....allegedly.
As for 'left wing rhetoric'.
All party rhetoric is bollocks in my opinion.
The concept of blind allegiance to anything is beyond me.
But who can deny the benefits and great strides forward of the 'leftist' policies implemented immediately post-WWII?
And those foundations formed the platform for the boom years that follwed.
But yes, everything 'leftist' is evil and bad.
The party political system has outlived its fit for purpose.
We need to set aside party politics, form a national government and concentrate on dealing with this pandemic and its effects free from the restraints
of political dogma.
