Acting Director of National Security Richard Grenell has given Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) an ultimatum; release 53 the transcripts from 53 secret interviews conducted by the House Intelligence Committee's Trump-Russia investigation, or Grenell will do it through the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, according to the Washington Examiner.
In a letter to Schiff, Grenell noted that the transcripts of all 53 interviews - consisting of more than 6,000 pages, have been cleared for public release.
"All of the transcripts, with our required redactions, can be released to the public without any concerns of disclosing lassified material," wrote Grenell in the May 4 letter.
Grenell added, "I am also willing to release the transcripts directly from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, as to ensure we comply with the unanimous and bipartisan vote to release the transcripts."
Grenell complied. "Pursuant to your guidance, these transcripts have not been shared with the White House," he wrote to Schiff.
