(Emphasis mine throughout.) Write the researchers, “We report...that chloroquine has strong antiviral effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage.”

This means, of course, that Dr. Fauci (pictured at right) has known for 15 years that chloroquine and it’s even milder derivative hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) will not only treat a current case of coronavirus (“therapeutic”) but prevent future cases (“prophylactic”). So HCQ functions as both a cure and a vaccine

I believe I could be wrong but because CV-19 presents like pneumonia and fluid on the lungs when the breathing becomes labored and hard. Pneumonia the go to at this point is to intubate because the lungs can’t handle the stress of actually inflating and deflating. But with CV-19 it’s like as the lungs can still function inflate and deflate but the actual problem is they can absorb the oxygen into the alveoli then into the red blood cells. A ventilator not only does t help but actually does damage to the lungs when a patient has CV-19. I remember reading this somewhere but I can’t find a link though sorry if I’m way off with this.

The ventilators are set to kill. The death rate with the current ventilator settings is around 80%.

Gerhard Laier-Groeneveld MD, a respiratory failure pulmonologist, received 8 seriously ill, deeply sedated patients receiving ventilation. He used the following settings on the ventilators:

Positive pressure at the end of expiration (PEEP) be adjusted to zero
Inspiratory time to 1.4 seconds
pCO2 to less than 35 mmHg
Tidal volume increase to at least 800 ml.

With these settings his patients are still alive, four weeks later. He has been testing passive ventilation without sedation in patients with respiratory failure for almost a decade, and has achieved mortality rates as low as 2% to 8%. With conventional settings, the mortality rates among acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients receiving pulmonary protection ventilation was 35% to 50%.

Patients arriving in Neustadt for COVID-19 are treated with oxygen, mask ventilation, and high tidal volumes to satisfy the respiratory drive. Groeneveld and his team avoid intubation, regardless of saturated oxygen levels, until mental function is compromised. Noninvasive ventilation is very effective and many people do not need intubation or sedatives.

He shared his strategy through Medscape Consult, and some doctors around the world responded, thanking him for his advice and asking for clarification. However, most doctors are still using the old settings, and therefore 3,500 people per day are dying. With the correct settings the deaths rate would be cut by at least half, so those doctors are killing at least 1,750 people per day.
