Just heard from my mom, she just retired from a Carillion hospital in Roanoke, her workmates are telling her that the whole staff is being put on the same level as they would during a hurricane etc, regarding staffing requirements like staying at the hospital and whatnot. Zero cases in Roanoke county so far though. They run at nearly 100% capacity on a normal day already.

side note: look at all of the antennas and sensors on top of the white house (the black things), kind of cool! Wonder what kind of tech. is built into the White House.

It may take some grassroots initiative because this really can't wait. And I cannot see this being a part of any COVID-19 spending bill.

Perhaps third party testing shows it's all hype...but maybe it doesn't. Whatever you think the numbers would show, that's info the public needs to know.

We need a list of all the third party testers and their contact info. And we need volunteers to call them and ask them if they will provide their data for the purpose of compiling all third party tests to supplement the CDC's information. And we need to get organized with a clear plan on how the data will be stored and made available to the public. (Google docs online?) and what data we want. They probably already have it on hand.

I wouldn't even know how to begin organizing such a thing, but I am certain there are enough people who would be happy to help with such a huge undertaking.

I would start thinking about limiting state borders.
There's not much that the US can do to quarantine a large city, so it'll have to be at the state level.
People just need to be aware to not spread this.
There is probably nowhere to run to anyway.

I highly doubt that number is accurate. Mexico is either not testing or not reporting.

Fully aware of that, it isn't what I asked for...

First, that data is almost a month old. Second, it is for overall stats.

I'm interested in a breakdown by Country - in this case, Italy.

I wish clicking on an individual Country would provide t hose stats, but it doesn't.

Also, the more important stats - how many of the infected were asymptomatic? How many only had mild symptoms that needed no medical intervention? Things like that would go a long, long way to settling some of the differences of opinion we're having here.

Sorry, I realised after I posted that it was not what exactly you asked for.

I think there is a bit of a "fog of war" at the moment. Those kind of stats will generally only be available much later after the dust has settled as healthcare departments are currently overwhelmed. We might start seeing those kind of stats from China now, assuming they are transparent and willing to share 100% - which is somewhat doubtful.

Which is interesting because the freedom to travel from state to state is a constitutionally protected right. We really are pushing it and there are some gruesome decisions to make. What a sh**ty situation this is.
