A number of differences, including levels of pollution and poverty rates and access to health care. Altitude (I'm thinking of the cases in Peru) also plays a part. You need to compare the US with Italy.

So it really brings the question to mind what are the effects of this virus?

Check WebMD ... though I should point out that the governments and scientists and doctors have been doing a good job of explaining all this to the public.

Can it be cured?

Well... no, but people do recover from it.

People are saying some are immune to it and cured, however people are also getting reinfected or were never cured in the first place.
The virus seems to go dormant for a time and may come back in after people recover.

People say a lot of things. I prefer to listen to the people who are doctors and scientists.... they've been giving a consistent picture all over the world and throughout this pandemic. Governments... they've been all over the map with statements but the science is pretty consistent.

It is estimated that it doubles every week or so meaning much over 350 million in the USA after a year from now.
Seeing as the social distancing does not seem to stop the spread amongst the animal kingdom and perhaps the bacterial spread of the virus as seen in the sewers of Europe and China may just be a hint of the method of how this virus reproduces in nature on a micro level infecting everything.

I think those are ATS speculations and not what scientists are saying.

Now scientists are saying it could also be seasonal so wondering how it travels and works outside of a human host in nature.

We actually don't have enough of a history with it to know. Here's a Fox News article that explains how it might be seasonal. However, I'm not confident in that since it's all over the globe (hot and cold climates) and no one seems to have any advantage here.

This is all very confusing.

I came into this thread #1 befriending the far left crowd, because the far right just couldnt wrap their head around what was coming.

Now, I am seeing those same people embracing the right, to protect theit rights amidst this insanity.

OK, I'll deal with that. Just promise me that after this is over, we all get together and KICK China's ass for causing this.

What's weird, in Iceland 40 out of 60 people tested for antibodies, had already had the disease and hadn't realized it. That's about seventy percent have already had it and now they are starting a lockdown. This is a strange disease.

I've been wondering about what you wrote. In Chile this thing isn't spreading that fast (yet), even though there is no national quarantine, only a few places and few cities have quarantine. And lots of people are not taking this seriously and continue to travel, go out shopping with the whole family, etc. Still not sure if the government is lying about the tests results (from what I understand, they took over everything, private and public sector), or most of us already got it and few are getting it now.

There are some things troubling my mind. 1 of them is that EVERY case in Chile was brought by a Chilean that returned from their vacations from abroad, only 1 that was a Chilean that lives in NYC and came to visit a family member, strangely enough he only infected her (1 person). NO SINGLE case was traced back to a tourist of different nationality, so no hotel worker, for example, got infected from a tourist. This is troubling me. Either our government is lying to us and there are far more cases and deaths, or there is something VERY strange going on.

There are reasons why the government wants to give the impression that they have kept a strict track of every case. One is to give the impression that hey are doing a great job (remember the "president" had only a 6% of approval, now it's up to ~20%) the other is that they said at the beginning of all this, that they will only put national quarantine if the traceability is lost. I doubt they still have it.

/RUMORS: A friend of my dad that works as a wild animal rescuer told him that he has lots of medical contacts, and he was informed by them that we are getting the information of 12 days ago and the numbers are a lot higher (both infected and dead). (Officially there is a 24hr-7 days lag in delivering tests results). However I have another friend that also has medical contacts and he told me that the numbers are truthful.

News from Chile, as of April 5: 4,815 total cases (252 cases per million) , 728 recovered, 327 in ICU and 37 dead. There have been new news, but not so different than the ones I already posted, so i'll skip most of them:

Good news: there are now 3,300 respirators available (even though they claimed that some will arrive in May, not explicitly stated in the news article) because the private sector is now included into the public health care system, but the government didn't state how many of those are already occupied. However, the system seems to be failing in some cases: The youngest patient to have died till now was 34 years old, and was denied to be tested (4 days in total he tried to get tested), until he got so ill that he had to be hospitalized, then he got tested, but to late. It is unknown how he got infected. He had pre-existing conditions, diabetes, hyper-tension and overweight. Source

Where have they been caught fiddling numbers? The number of deaths and fatality rate shot up in the UK in the last 24 hrs as ONS figures were updated but the BBC and other media had already reported that this would happen as there's a delay of week in labelling deaths outside of hospital so people were warned cases were under reported.

I actually have proof that the deaths are being under reported and not over reported. My local news have said that there have been no reported deaths in my town for 3 days but I personally know someone who's dad died of covid 19 2 days ago. Also in the comments section of the article there were numerous people who know people who died of it in hospital within the last few days.
I'm not saying they're covering up the real figures, what I think is happening is there are issues within the recording and reporting of deaths around the UK.

SARS was found to last up to 29 days on stainless steel. That study was done years ago.

I agree - but ironically, it is because of Fauci and his badly outdated and incorrect understanding of the human immune system, as well as his long standing (entire career) and extreme bias/ties to big pharma (and big money).

If the President would get rid of him, and replace him - and the CDC leadership - with people who are open to seriously - and without bias - start looking at natural therapies and treatments for those already sick, and preventative therapies for those not yet sick, we could end this thing overnight.

Absence of symptoms does not equal 'no underlying health conditions'.

The truth is, the vast majority of people in America and other first world countries are just barely over that line of showing no overt symptoms - but are, in fact, obese, pre-diabetic and pre-a-host-of-other-underlying-conditions. A heart - or virus - attack stat waiting to happen.
