Seeing a fair few videos coming out of China showing a lot of protests and rioting against the police!
I haven't seen that before in China. Possibly explains why the internet there was cut on March 1st was it?
stricter internet in china

www.youtube.com...

1️⃣ Lockdown in Hubei was lifted 2 days ago and people wanted to go back to work in Jiangxi. Jiangxi police would not let them in. People from Hubei got mad.

2️⃣ Jiangxi police invaded Hubei police jurisdiction, causing fights between the police.

3️⃣ Riots ensued.

twitter.com...

and

threadreaderapp.com...

Here is another view of Hubei residents flipping over a Jiangxi police van.

What's nice about this view is that it clearly shows the Hubei police simply watching, if not helping, the Hubei civilians destroy Jiangxi police vehicles.

I'm sorry, but if I own a piece of property you damned well better believe I have a right to go there. I can understand prohibited from renting a cabin or something, but if you OWN that property?

Fannin County is one of many that made an emergency declaration this week amid the coronavirus pandemic.

County sheriff’s officials are now clarifying that this means people from Atlanta with cabins in the area cannot go to their cabins at this time. The Fannin Sheriff’s Administration posted this on Facebook Thursday:

“I have received multiple inquiries wanting to know if people from Atlanta can come to their cabins. The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Atlanta is under a “Shelter in Place” order. Our ordinance specifically prohibits this.”

North Georgia officials: You are not allowed to come to mountains this weekend

Because they currently have no cases. And you don't know who's coming in or who they've been in contact with. When COVID-19 hits these small communities, there's real trouble. Many of them don't have a clinic in their small towns, and access to hospitals is difficult.

An asymptomatic carrier can bring down a whole town.

Stay home.

I understand the rationale. But if I want to shelter at home/in place at my rural residence, that's my right, because it's property I own.

If you stay at your (rural) residence or cabin, you won't infect the town.

And I live in a small town/community.

The point is not in not being able to travel, it's not being able to access your own property, or fined while trying, if you desire.

Coronavirus, Salvini: "If China knew it was a crime against humanity"

Posted on: 26/03/2020 12:31

"If the Chinese government knew, it did not report and did not protect, it committed a crime against humanity." So the senator and leader of the League, Matteo Salvini , in a passage of the speech at Palazzo Madama after the information of Prime Minister Conte in the Chamber . " You can't pass those who have infected the world as saviors !" Exclaimed the League.

OK, now THAT's interesting.
Hope we get more information on this. That could go either way, either the residents are pissed that the virus was mishandled and the casualty count much higher than reported, or they're pissed they were just locked down for the past 2+ months for something with numbers that didn't warrant that type of action.

I think the general vibe is that they are pissed because China concealed the truth at the start and feel they are responsible for it.

Super licking of WHO to China. #Banditi#venduti . This is the United Nations today

This was in response to this tweet

"The speed with which #China detected the outbreak, isolated the virus, sequenced the genome and shared it with WHO and the world are very impressive. So is Flag of China’s commitment to transparency and to supporting other countries"-
@DrTedros
#2019nCoV

twitter.com...

First they created the virus in the laboratory (reliable sources say it), then they are also rewarded by the WHO. How disgusting!.

twitter.com...

China, hiding the dead (20 million mobile phone users that have vanished into thin air in the past 2 months), sentenced us to death, our idiotic governments believed the CCP numbers thinking that proportionally we would have had a few hundred deaths, instead it is a 'massacre

twitter.com...

Obviously that is just a few tweets (translated from Italian btw), but this surely will be their thinking now that the numbers have exploded and overtaken China. No one sane believes the Chinese numbers, how long will it be before the world starts to really look at Wuhan and the CCP and ask more questions?

Has anyone else ever tried to give up cigarettes in an apocalypse type situation before?

It doesn't help with anxiety, and Allan Carr did not mention it in his "Easy Way" book.

My guide to giving up cigarettes/chocolate/etc
If you're thinking of giving up cigarettes, try not to do it in an Apocalypse Type Situation.
If you have to give up cigarettes, when there is an End Times motif outside the window, do your very best to stay calm.
If you can't stay calm, then simply panic. This period will pass. It might SEEM like forever, but it is only for a few days.
Congratulations:- You have given up smoking... and not before time.
If you can achieve this, then you can probably do anything.

Next guide "How to cope with being stuck indoors with a belief that you can achieve anything".

No foreigners are allowed in China now, not even if they have a Chinese spouse or child. Looks like its climbing to a civil unrest situation, reports that their a factions developing in the CCP which want XI out, as they battle a second wave of virus.

Stay home.

My property, my home. 2nd or first makes no difference where I 'shelter in place' - although you and apparently this Sheriff don't understand the difference between a voluntary 'shelter in place' order and mandatory quarantine.

They don't have the lawful authority to do this.

I think this is a moot conversation as it was clarified by the authorities that the mandate was targeted towards not "GOING" to that second shelter during the curfew times. Or did misread something somewhere?

wow … so in central Illinois in the USA, autopsies are now 'non essential procedures', and nobody that I can find in this part of Illinois will even perform one, because of the COVID19 related local healthcare shutdown to conserve supplies (PPE) and human effort.

Why is this an issue for me today: we had a newborn unfortunately die at my hospital, and the family wants an autopsy, to determine if the cause of death is due to something that could recur in a future pregnancy, or if they would be safe to try to have another pregnancy without a chance of the same thing happening again. That is a legitimate concern, and a legitimate reason for them to request an autopsy.

The problem is: all the morgues (and forensic pathologists) are shut down right now for non criminal / medical examiner cases, at least the ones that I can find. I could theoretically attempt to perform an autopsy myself, but I have not personally performed one for more than 18 years, and infants are tricky because the anatomy that really matters around the heart / lungs / brain area(s) is so small. The heart can be the size of a grape, and the vessels, like threads. Someone with experience would need to do this procedure. Regardless, I digress. My hospital got rid of our local morgue years ago anyway, because it 'didn't pay'.

So, no autopsy in this case, and for any local hospital death for the foreseeable future for us. We are shut down from normal operations.

March 27th 2020 and the final numbers of the day for just New York look to be 6800 confirmed cases of covid19 , and 150 deaths .
This is just in New York. This virus is hitting the USA very hard and is going to get worse .

Sadly people still don’t understand what social distancing means , or stay at home .

I’m not religious, but If anyone here is , pray for the front line heath care workers as they use the same mask they had on days ago, and they run out of ventilators and proper PPE.

If you can't find someone to do the autopsy then please help these people and perform it yourself if you can. A chance of getting an answer is better than no answers for those poor parents.

Not exactly... trends... the catch phrase of the day... trends...
Research shows even the trends in case fatality rates in the early stages of a pandemic are not reliable and can be misleading, so I wouldn't count on trends being accurate either.

Just one example, if tests become more widely available, more people with less serious cases might get tested, leading to a downward trend when there's no trend at all in the real CFR had everyone been tested. Alternatively other factors can lead to a false positive increase in the CFR which may also not be true. I can't place much value on any CFR numbers at this point, and don't have any more confidence that CFR trends are accurate.

I couldn't agree more! In fact, the only real number that im interested in which I see very little publicity about is the R-0. I think it's pretty important for reporters during press briefings to try and ascertain this number from the doctors on the panel. THAT is something they should have a pretty good handle on by now.
Here's a graph showing the R-0 Basic Reproduction Number versus CFR but again I'm not confident in the CFR number, but if it's right, coronavirus is estimated to have a slightly higher CFR than the deadly 1918 Flu:

The coronavirus pandemic in five powerful charts

While I doubt anybody really believes China's reported coronavirus numbers, I do think they probably have a more effective lockdown than some other countries, and this graph seems to independently confirm that based on their air pollution data. Interesting.

Here's a comparison of the response speed to coronavirus, versus the SARS outbreak:
